Might not be a problem with the pump. I had an older truck with the same problem and it turned out that the oil pump pickup was plugging up. Do an engine flush and clean the pickup. means pulling the oil pan but not a big job. Solved my problem

sound like you have lost presure switch that is supposed to relive presure when presure is high or the belt is too tight putting presure on the bearing causing over heat or oil cooler restricted and not coolling the oil

No oil presure

The sending unit was my guess...Could be the oil pump going bad...Or even a to good brand oil filter restraining the oil from recirculating...I've seen it happen..

1990 5.8, 74000 miles well maintained. Oil preasure drops off

Why are you running 10 - 40 weight oil. You might want to rethink this. As the miles go up the ware on parts goes up. So I would recommend a 5 - 20 or 5 - 30 high mileage oil. If the oil pump is that new and working properly then this will help with the pressure.

Car starts and cuts out after 2 to 3 seconds. fuel

When the ignition switch is turned on the pcm turns on the fuel pump by energizing the fuel pump relay. The PCM keeps the fuel pump on as long as the engine is cranking over or running. It does this by recieving pulses from the ignition module. If there are no referance pulses the PCM will turn the fuel pump relay off in 2 seconds with the ingnition on.

Most models also include a secondary control path through the oil presure switch witch will turn the fuel pump on after it detects oil presure.cranking time will be longer if the fuel pump doesn't recieve current until oil presure switch contact is closed.

Low oil presure only in the morrning for about 2 min. at the same time motor is running fine, but showing no oil presure, then gauge go's to normal. Motor still running fine! Could it be a pressure...

Ok filter problem could be there filters that have a valve used to chek the oil gallery is not downloaded and so when the engine begins to work up the pressure quickly. Also in other systems, this valve is fitted in the pump aceite.thanks good luck

2001 dodge 2500 diesel oil leak in front of power

The power steering pump is piggie backed to the vacuum pump. The seal in the back of the vacuum pump has engin oil under presure behind it cousing a leak that gets worse over time. Cummins make a seal kit to fix this leak.

Sorry, I can't afford to pay for expert advice, I'm disabled! I have posted a question and received answers, so I'm hoping for the best! We have 1995 Dodge Dakota 318 5.2ltr - and we've tested fuel pump,...

if ur dakota has good oil presure ,check to see if oil sending unit is leaking oil,if so replace it ,it needs replacing any way. very low oil presure will not allow fuel pump to come on threw this sending unit
