Question about Cars & Trucks

2002 ford focus has a hard shift. I have had sputtering and stalling issues last few weeks, and replaced throttle position sensor and spark plug wires. Since replacing these my sputtering/stalling issue stopped, but now shifts late and hard between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears. What might cause this to happen?

1996 jeep cherokee stalls, I've replaced the throttle position sensor, MAP sensor, and carbeurotor. What else could it be?

You replace sparkplugs, plug wire, tps, map, cap and rotor.Thats good,If the vehicle runs and you come to a stop and it stalls,That is the IAC (Idle air control) you say it ran fine for a week now its acting up, Service the IAC or get it replaced.

Stalling and loss of acceleration

I will say as you know that, the spark plugs weren't your issue. That said, you and I know more than a dealer.
The level of fuel in the tank should have no bearing on idle & stall issues.
Why would a dealer release a vehicle, with idle issues, you brought it in for? Again the dealer. Is there a pattern here.
Sudden stall at idle-no previous problems!
Won't accelerate under load!

The cause??

Throttle Position Sensor
Idle Air Control-if so equipped
MAF Sensor
EGR Valve
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Vacuum Leaks
Etc
Does it have a Throttle Pedal Position Actuator, such as all the issues Toyoto had?
Do you have Stored Codes?

I would have a talk with a local shop and maybe consider leaving it for a few days, only if you know their good with these type issues and have an understanding that you control the billed hours your paying for.

2004 Ford Focus LX, was sputtering while driving

A flashing light is BAD. Its damaging the cat converter. I would check or replace the spark plug wires ( if all OK, then) replace the coil pack. I would not replace anything unless they test bad. but these car are known for bad coil packs.

Loss of power when hard accelorating , seems to faster on 1/2 throttle than on full, holding back

sounds like the oxygen sensor is giving up. start of by replacing the spark plugs, and if not check the oxygen sensor

My 2003 Ford Focus stahls while sitting in the

The car is programmed to idle a little faster when the AC is on.  Not knowing exactly what has been replaced, at first blush, sounds like the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) needs replacement.  This regulates the idle speeds (when cold, warm, AC on).  Unfortunately, there's no adjustment to be made on the TPS.  Sounds like you ned to find a new mechanic (preferably ASE qualified).  Best of luck to you Sylvia.
