Question about 1996 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

Fuel delivery problems

When you pour gas into the throttle body it will start right up and run fine until it burns off all the gas that has been poured into it. The fuel pump and fuel filter have been replaced, along with the fuel pressure regulator and a map sensor. Could it be the injectors?

SOURCE: fuel supply

sounds like there is no power to the fuel pump while cranking. check the oil pressure sender this helps the fuel pump run under cranking

probably not fuel filter . probably going to have to remove the upper intake and replace the fuel injector spider(fuel inj assebly) if it is droping fuel pressure it is leaking into the upper manifold

What is wrong when the truck want start unless you pour gas in the throttle body then runs fine until gas burns off the dies

This means that fuel is not being forced up to the Carb., or to the Injectors. There are several reason this could happen. You may have a clogged Fuel Filter, or You may have a faulty Fuel Pump, but it also could mean that your Fuel Pump Relay is faulty and is not sending the electrical signal to a particular sensor. You might have a dirty Throttle Body Unit or a faulty Throttle Position Sensor. There are a few more reasons but for now: Follow the following link to learn more about how to troubleshoot your Crank / No start Issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piOzN1tZI_E

Motor turn won t start untill u pour gas down throddle body then it runs

You have a fuel delivery problem. If it shuts off after you do that, then you probably have a bad fuel pump,or a broken fuel line.

Check for fuel by pouring small amount of clean gas down throttle body and crank engine over. if it starts and runs just for a few seconds you have a fuel delivery problem

1998 honda civic. car wouldn't start. thinking need gas. get gas. prime throttle body (maybe a little too much accidently) however, waited a day.(battery was dying from all the attempted starting. put an...

The only matter there should be in the throttle body is air. The throttle body in no way has anything other than "nothing" in it. The liquid you see could be the gasoline you threw into the throttle body.

Getting back to your problem. Do NOT have someone looking down the throttle body while you are trying to start the engine. That person may receive a haircut he will never forget! Get the battery charged. Try to start the engine because even though you think you put too much gas in the throttle body, it may start.

The tricky part. If the engine starts and runs for a few seconds, then you are having a problem with fuel delivery and that is the fuel pump most of the time but not always.. If it does not start at all, try one more time to pour gasoline into the throttle body, hold your foot about 1/2 way down on the pedal and then try again to start it. If it still doesn't start, it's time to check for spark.

1985 grand Marquis acts like not getting fuel to start but if I pour gas directly into throttle body starts right up and runs what could be problem

Runs on the gas you pour in, or keeps running until you turn the key off ???
If the fuel pump relay fails, you would have to crank the engine until you get oil pressure to provide power to the fuel pump.
Do the injectors spray when you are cranking it ? Have you checked fuel pressure when the key is turned to start ?

99 tahoe, changed fuel filter, and poured some gas in the throttle body and it will start.

i am assuming that this vehicle will not start without the gas poured into the throttle body? If so then there is a fuel dilevery problem which can be coming from injectors that are not firing due to clogged injectors or a malfunctioning injection pulse. or clogged fuel delivery system which is most probaly not the case due to you changing the fuel filter, or a bad fuel pump. you have some testing ahead of you.
