Question about 2000 Jaguar S-Type
I've had people not want to replace battery for me because of jaguar standards, come on do I really need to spend thousands at the dealership for battery?. I just had the car there and replaced the water pump and I told them I had small oil leak which they told me they would have remove the whole engine, so I opt out and just keep checking, now my car won't start unless I jump it which starts right up. All the lights and stuff work before, it is never just dead
If your battery is in the boot get a portable jump starter and connect it to your current battery ive got a 1995 xjr and i did this because this was cheaper and fixing jags tend to be very expensive so if your battery isin the back of your car do so but if your batterys in the front of the car and you really dont want to spend money on a new battery then get a portable jump starter and then every time you go somewhere you would have to connect the portable jump starter up to your current battery and start it that way

this is a old model and it should have a cold start valve or it should have a coolant temp sensor, replace the colant temp sensor which is usualy located on the thermostat housing or on the intake manifold and this will sove the clod start problema!!

Yes the key needs to be reprogramed to the car. Unfortunately that will have to be done by the dealer. Make sure that you have plenty of proof that you are the owner. They will reprogram it but you will not take posession of the car until you prove it is yours.

Look under the boot handle near the number plate light and you'll see a hole where you can use your key to open the boot.

i am a tech at a ford dealership. it sounds like you have a short some wheres around your steering column that maybe what we call "backfeeding" to other systems. the area where the tilt is on the steering column is a good place to check. also remote starters can cause alot of havoc on a vehicle.
