SOURCE: radiator leak 99 Ford Expedition back drivers side

You are likely leaking coolant from a heater line or hose, check the hose that comes from the water pump{smaller of the two] and see if it has a leak in it or if there is just a loose hose clamp. If you can't find a leak in the hoses or any steel tubes then you need to take it to a radiater shop and have it pressure tested to see if you have a leak in the intake manifold gasket or maybe even the head gasket, good luck.

SOURCE: I have a 99 Ford

Hello ,the MAP sensor on the Air snorkel sets the fuel mix depending on the air temperature. Use some Electronics cleaner and clean this part and then try it. If this does not help, there is an initial start circuit which is commonly called the cold start routine . This circuit is suppose to reset after you shut off the engine. It works the longest when cold which is what yours is doing. It is suppose to work briefly to prime the cylinders with a rich mix by retarding timing for starting. This is what yours is not doing when warm. The sensor may be staying hot too long.

There are 2 temperature sensors for the water temperature. One works the gauge and the other works the cold start routine. Try changing the sensor for the cold start routine. When in doubt just unplug the one that operates the gauge which you can observe, then reconnect it and remove the remaining sensor. It may also help to put in a new Thermostat just to insure the operating temperature is not off.

If this does not help, It will be a good idea to have the fuel pressure checked at the Injector rail. Do this when the engine is cold and again when it is hot and hard to start. You can be having a fuel pump dropping pressure when it heats up. Testing both ways will reveal it.

Finally, take it in and get the engine scanned for free at Autozone or Oreillys or similar places. You may have a defect that is recorded and you can get this checked while you pick up the water sensor. Ask what RPM your engine is idling at, the throttle stop may be set too low for decent starts when the cold start routine is off. Adjust the TPS for higher RPM.

SOURCE: myy 99 ford expedition won't stay start, it

its going to either be a fuel problem or electrical,, so check fuel first ,, get a can of carb cleaner, or quick Start,, spray some in the air intake as someone tries to start the vehicle, if it runs as long as your spraying, ( don't so this too long ) then you have a fuel issue, the easiest thing to do is change the fuel filter , try that first ,, if that doesn't fix it, your going to have to check the fuel pump,, now,, if none of that helped,, pull a plug , whatever one is easiest to remove, and put the plug wire back on ,, hold the plug with insulated pliers , ( so you don't get zapped) and ground the end of the plug against a bolt head anyplace on the motor, hold it there while s friend or someone cranks the car over, you should get a nice blue spark at the tip of the plug,, if you do ,, its again a fuel problem,, if you don't,, check the cap and rotor, any tiny crack in the cap, or build up of corroded contact tips inside the cap, will cause these problems your having, clean them off as good as you can and also clean the rotor tip, see if that helps, if it does, replace the cap as soon as you can, and also the rotor, if this doesn't help, your going to have to get the coil checked, and trace everything back to the ignition

I have a new starter and battery but all my 2000 ford expedition does is sound like a vacuum or sometimes nothing at all what could it be

Sorry to say. But pull the starter back off and look at the flywheel. Are the teeth on the flywheel eaten off? Replace the flywheel. It will take a day to do on the ground. It will cost $600 to $700 at a shop.

What makes a replacement starter keep on running, on a Ford Expedition ?

Either the starter is getting electric power from somewhere it is not supposed to get, or the gear drive is sticking on the flywheel.

How do I line up teeth when I put starter in 99' ford windstar?

you don't line up starter teeth with the flywheel..the bendix part does this every time the starter is energized..bench test the starter and you will see the drive gear pop out momentarily,(about an inch or soas it spins very fast) once mounted in place it mdoes it all by itself, I promise..may have the wrong one for the vehicle..did you match up the original one to the replacement unit..if not do that and look for inconsistencies..unless the motor is locked up..turn it by hand or use a socket on the big pulley bolt at the bottom see if it turns at all

2000 Chevy s10 manual changed starter still won't start the starter is spinning but the engine won't turn over.

Do you have the correct starter and is it grinding, this sounds like a bad flywheel or wrong starter or even a bad one. look at teeth of flywheel and see if they are damaged. good day

My 1998 Ford Expedition sounds like it's cranking but there is not anything turning on the engine. What could be happening? I was thinking the timing chain but maybe there is somewhere else I should be...

It could be several things. If nothing is turning up front, raise the vehicle and see if the flywheel is turning with the starter. If it is turning and the back of the crankshaft is turning with it and the front still isn't turning it is possible the crank is broke. Check the flywheel though and be careful when someone turns it over.
