Air suspension light Lincoln Town Car

I took my car to Tire Kingdom/Big O Tires to have tires rotated and a few other things. Since then the air suspension light has been on. Could it be because they did not flip the switch when they changed the tires?

SOURCE: AIR SUSPENSION PROBLEMS FOR 2000 LINCOLN TOWNCAR CARTIER

I have serviced these in the past and it will probably be a combination of things. I just a few weeks ago fixed a 1999 with the same problems. Generally from past repairs, the electric pump has been working overtime to compensate for leaking rear air shocks. The best solution is to replace them both, not a cheap repair, the pump around 275.00 and each shock arount 275.00.
Just with every thing over time things fail, the rear shocks develop leaks over time/weather cracks, they are easy to check, soapy water will identify this as the problem. If you can get under it enough to spray around the bottom of the shocks when they are inflated. These systems are computer controlled and if you have the proper scanner you can check the system out for eletrical problems easily. My past experiences with these suspensions as almost always the shocks and pump.

SOURCE: just had car dealership repair 1997 lincoln town air ride

Those Lincolns are notorious for that,I'd just get a set of coil springs out of a Crown Victoria cop car(junk yard)and swap them out.Done it many times, you can do it in about an hour, and they'll never leak down again.By the way, there's some O-rings in that system.Make some soapy water and spray every connection, just maybe you'll get lucky.

I have a Limo, a Lincoln Town Car, 120". What tire pressure should I run in the factory Michelin tires? The door plate says 32 PSI but that is before the car was chopped and extended. I've seen on

Two thoughts:
1; Your tires may not be correct for the vehicle. Look at the tire, get the ratings off of them, and look that up on the Michelin website. Your tires may not be able to handle the extra weight. The rating should be something like "Load Rating B" or something like that.
2: While looking at the tires, they should also tell you the minimum and maximum tire air pressure.

I have a 1999 Lincoln town car limousine. Sometimes the rear air suspension will drop down after being parked for awhile. But, sometimes it doesn't. While driving with no one in the car the suspension...

Yes, There are leveling sensors under the car. You really have 2 separate problems though.

There is a Master venting valve usually under the drivers front fender. It bleeds the air out of the system. It is suppose to bleed out enough to level the car and not allow the rear end to dip.

The doorjam switches and the trunklid switch are part of the system. If these switches send an "open" signal, the rear bags will not inflate. Conversely the switches must work to tell the car to lower when a door or trunklid is open.

Because of the stretch of the car or LIFTING THE CAR without deactivating the sensor switch in the trunk, the leveling sensor can be unseated or damaged. It is normal for the suspension to raise to compensate for added passenger weight. It will not raise until the doors are closed as well as the trunklid.

It sounds like the master venting solenoid may be bad and working intermittently before failing altogether. You can soap water test the bags and the lines for leaks.

Remember to watch your tire rating. Load classes go by Alphabet letters with a "D" having more capacity than a "C" and an "E" having more capacity than a "D". Tire inflation is directly related to carrying capacity. It is stated on the sidewall of your tires. What I am trying clumsily to say is that you can not let your rear tires bulge out with heavy passengers and then try to let the Air-Ride jack up the car to compensate.

I use an SUV style tire on my lighter car. Your Lincoln is heavy to begin with, but with added passengers or a "stretch" the weight goes beyond the stock tires' capability to handle the load.

I hope my solution is helpful.

Its a air suspension comprssor for a 93 lincoln mark 8 were on the car is it located

The air suspension compressor is located on the passenger side of the car in front of the tire. To get to it, you must first lift the front tires off of the ground, remove the front passenger tire, and then remove the plastic skirt found behind the tire. After this is done it is easy to see the compressor which is found towards the front of the car, mounted just behind the skirt. I hope this helps

My air suspension light came on and want go off

The warning light is advising you of a fault in the rear air suspension system. Is the car sitting level ? The switch in the trunk is ONLY TURNED OFF when you incur a flat tire in the rear tires and must jack up the rear of the car. IF NOT TURNED OFF the air suspension will over-extend with air . Hope this helps.
