2000 Toyota Celica GT with 117,000 miles making revving noise

I have a 2000 Toyota Celica GT with 117,000 miles. I am starting to notice a slight revving noise in my engine and does not always happen when I am shifting gears and the RPM's do not increase. I recently had a master cylinder misfire and had to replace some of the parts and all of the spark plugs. Any suggestions on what might be happening?

Whats the max amount of miles you can drive on a 1990 toyota celica gts with the first engine?

If well maintained and with regular service this engine can last up to 150,000 miles. Remember, this means changing all fluids regularly, changing the hoses and belts regularly and just keeping the engine in tip top condition. No racing, no over revving, etc.

Mate.I would get your water pump checked.I had the same on a car and that is what was happening.Exactly as you explained it.Mine seized and snapped the belt.More cost. And a tow.The squeel is the pump starting up with very little water lube.Water moves around and then it stops.Hey!It may be a belt thing. But I would check the w/pump.Hope this helps
