Turn signal problems on 85 monte carlo SS

My turn signals went out today but when i push the brakes the right front one lights up as long as i hold it just stays on doesnt blink and also both the turn signal indicators light up when the brake is pushed but no flashing front or rear? is it a bad ground wire? before they went out whenever my headlights were on the right turn signal indicator on my dash would stay lit as long as the lights were on?..

Sounds like the turn blinker is shorted internally. Suggest you change it out, to test this.

My next check is that no wiring is melted and burned, such as can happen with any connection to tow a trailer. U-Haul has fine print that indemnify them of any problems they cause! have you towed anything recently?

SOURCE: Brake/Signal Lights Problem.

Sounds like a ground problem to me. Bulbs are not getting there ground to complete the circuit so they backfed through the other bulbs.

It should not be a mystery. Loosen one of the fittings on your new line to see if brake fluid is present. If so, the problem lies downstream from that point! Good luck!

96 monte carlo rear window brake light works but not brake lights. tail lights work, blinkers work, replaced brake switch and bulbs still not working

This is a common GM specific problem. Your turn signal switch contains an elaborate networking device that has to cancel brakelights while running a turn light. Often times the ground within the turn signal switch is lost causing your situation. After investigating such other possibilities as fuses and loose grounds it may become necessary to replace the turn signal switch. Thank you, Dana

Turn signal switch. With you foot on the brake have someone stand behind the car. Wiggle the turn signal lever and see if the the brake lights flicker.

Brake booster

If I understand you Question correctly you would like to know what you brake booster hooks on to? Its bolted through the fire wall by four bolts you can't see those bolts from outside in the hood. They can be seen up above the brake pedal on the inside of you vehicle . The master cylinder in mounted to the brake booster. The brake booster has a Push type rod that attached to the top of your brake pedal close to the brake light switch. Good Luck
