Usually you can use the remote or lock and unlock the drivers door with the key if it is a factory installed alarm.

Reset the computer after replacing the battery ?

When you unhooked the battery it should've reset itself automatically. You may have to go in the trunk and reset the airbag control switch if the rear airbags don't air up on their own.

Changed out battery now we need to reset computer

On most vehicles if you leave the battery disconnected for 3 hrs the computer will reset. This is enough time for the power back up in the computer to go dead and reset itself. I know it sounds stupid, but it works. Should make check engine light turn off

On my 2005 Tahoe how do I reset the check engine light?

the check engine light is indicating a problem with a control system. The resulting codes need to be fixed, then the light will be reset or go out by itself. If the problem resolves itself, or is intermittent, the light may go out by itself

How long does it take check engine light to go off after map sensor is replaced. Car is a 1998 buick leSabre. Code reader pointed to map sensor. I understand it takes several starts for light to reset so...

you can take of the ground of the battery of the car for 30 minutes and the computer will reset. if you drive around without reseting the computer might figure it out after 30 miles.

I assume that you are saying that the car idles poorly, after you changed the battery, and you are requesting information to reset the computer.

There is no 'reset' button., What you have to do is drive the car, about 5 miles, in stop and go traffic, and then highway speeds., This teaches the computer the 'base idle parameter'.

Drive the car, as described above, and your base idle will then readjust itself for optimal performance.

How do it reset the computer on a 2005 f 250 Diesel

there are several ways to reset the computer. Go to a parts store and they can use a scanner to do it. Or, if you want to do it yourself you can disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes to allow the computers memory to go away. Once you hook it back up it will, in a nut shell, reboot itself similar to your home computer. You will have to reset your radio, clock, etc. inside the cab yourself.

There's no code to reset the computer. Go out, turn the key on, but don't start the engine. The throttle position sensor sets itself up, and if you have an ATQ engine, you have a drive-by-wire throttle setup as well. In that case, the throttle body itself will align itself when you do this (you'll hear a humming from the back center of the engine). When the humming stops, you can crank up the car. My 99 A4 takes awhile to relearn everything - I'm usually in for a week's worth of surging idle and occasional stalling when I reconnect the battery after working on it, so give it some time.
