Check the oil level in the transmission first. Have a pressure test done on the transmission to see if there are any internal failures.. have the fault codes read and look for servo or servo sensors failure

94 suburban 5.7, replaced neutral safety switch and still no reverse lights, what could be the problem?

I suspect those are related to the switch electrical connections (since you've replaced the switch) or position of the linkage not be correct to "make" the switch yet still be "close enough" to be in gear. I had seen similar issues when motor mounts broke causing the engine / tranny assembly to twist slightly throwing the shift linkage out of alignment.

I have a 94 chevy 2500 that is stuck in 3rd gear, or wont shift correctly, shop says its an "ignition switch"

My truck had this issue, or one very similar. The 4L80E transmissions have a defect where transmission fluid can leak up into the big round electrical plug and short everything out. There are YouTube videos on how to clean out the plug and seal it so it doesn't happen again.

How do I change the white backup lights on my 94 chevy suburban? It's not in my manual. Thanks

Open the gate or doors, and there are a couple screws on the interior side of the brake light housings. By the way, my old 94 burb had a problem where i had to HOLD the shift lever up when in reverse for the back up light switch to turn on... could be that too

1997 chevy suburban automatic. has no reverse but drives. gears shift slow jerks while shifting into secound..before this it would lug while driving up hill...

you need a used trans, or a rebuild, but dont let a rebuilder fill you full of ****, all you need is the reverse drum, and possibly some clutches. the teeth on the reverse drum strip off, and thats when you lose reverse.

Not shfiting right

eric sounds like you have a electronic trans mission or computer controled trans.is the check engine light on ?

second it sounds like your trans is in limp in mode ( only has second gear).

the hard shifts is not good news.

somtimes when the controller sets a code that forces limp in it has to be cleared.

dis-connect the battery for a few min. then try it again see if it shifts but be easy on it and make sure fluid level is good.

if it it still messes up CHA CHING hehe i'll fix it fer 1000 bucks
