SOURCE: 2000 Mitsubishi Galant, EA3A 2.4l motor. Oil leal

it could also be the oil pan gasket, or the manifold gasket. if it's the manifold gasket, when you remove the manifold to replace it, take the time to clean out the mixing chamber. it'll be filled with gunk and cleaning will improve gas mileage.

SOURCE: range rover 4.6 v8 loosing oil but no oil leak?

Hi if you park your car on a level surface do you have any patches on the floor?
If you do then it would point to Front or rear main seal. However it is a very common fault on 4.0l and especialy 4.6l to crack piston rings. The sumptoms are high oil useage and mostly no trace of oil leak and normaly no signs of smoking either.
Thanks Rob.

SOURCE: oil leak

I've never seen a cracked block leak oil. Have problem verified so there is no "or" in your problem. As far as first time jobs, a head gasket on a mercedes is not where to start learning. If its a valve cover gasket, yes try it...otherwise have a quallified pro do the work.

SOURCE: ''2000 dodge grand caravan oil leak at crankcase how do i fix it''

How bad does it leak? Most cars eventually leak some. Adding oil now and then is cheaper than fixing a leak if its not too bad.

Oil leak and dip stick keeps popping out

sounds like the engine may have a clogged oil passage or two. Check for excess crankcase pressure, also some dipsticks use a seal at the top under the cap. Kind of like an o-ring. Check to see if it's missing.

Oil leak with an over-pressurized engine

If the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve gets stuck closed, then the entire crankcase could become pressurized and start blowing out seals. In most cars this can be fixed just by just replacing the valve. However, some cars dont use a valve, and use a different method. So sorry, im not much help, but at least maybe i explained to you why it could become pressurized.

I have a 92 honda accord lx, and its been leaking. my uncle put stop oil leak in it and it stopped for a little while but nows its continuing. he thinks its coming from the main seal since he cant see...

It could be the O ring between the block and the oil cooler.under the oil filter. or it could be the oil pressuer sending unit above the oil filter.

How to change a timing cover seal on a 1992 Geo Prizm? Car is leaking oil bad out front of engine, I assume it is the timing cover seals.

This is the same as a Toyota Corolla. Plan on replacing the timing belt and all associated parts. The problem is either the Camshaft or Crankshaft seals. Timing cover seal does NOT keep oil in the engine. The oil getting on the timing belt WILL cause premature failure.

Oil leak

one of the few problems ive had with my cars (2 honda) is oil leaking. Im pretty sure taht it might b leaking from one of the seals on the engine is too old. U gotta take it tothe mechanic forthis to b changed, buts its not too expensive. If u havent had any of them replaced since u have ur car, i would recomment changing them all, each one is like 40-70 bucks, depending on were is located and the year/model of thecar.

Theres only 3 seals total, so it wont b too much.

Of course, it could b something else. I just had my distributor rebuilt because of a leak. cost 50 bucks, +20 for installation. B sure to check both..
