Fuel injectors leak at fuel rail

How do I fix the problem of my injectors leaking at the fuel rail on my 89' 240sx? Ive gotten refurbished injectors, I have also replaced the o-rings around the injectors twice and the other rubber piece around the injector that comes in contact with the fuel rail. When the car is running, I can see fuel run down the top of the injector. What would be a solution? whenever i drive my car, i can smell gas fumes inside the car. When i get out after turning off the car, i can still smell the fumes. Would a bad fuel pressure regulator cause these types of problems?

Get some new O-rings, and this time put oil on them before you insert them into the fuel rail. The regulator is alright. The problem is that the o-rings can roll up, or twist when push em in dry. Had this problem once, easy fix, but was frustrating.

    Thanks for trying?
If you did it the way I advised to and it still leaked, then you used the wrong O-Rings.

Get tested fuel pressure regulator how do you know its leaking inside the intake without opening the intake manifold

Fuel from the pressure regulator can't enter the intake manifold with out passing through the injector first. That means that if you have a leak in the inlet manifold you have a leaking injector.
A fuel pressure regulator is no more than a controlled leak. You test pressure on the fuel rail, if you have pressure you have fuel to the injectors.
The regulator controls that pressure by controlling the return flow to the fuel tank. You are in trouble when a pressure regulator does not flow (leak) fuel from the pressure (fuel rail) and return ports.
To test weather a injector is leaking you remove it from the inlet manifold and pressurize the injector.

1993 dodge dinesty 3.4 fuel rail leaks how can i repair

If the metal fuel rail itself has a leak, it should be replaced. If it is leaking by an injector, the O-rings on the injectors need to be checked and probably replaced. If a fuel line to the rail is leaking, that will have to be repaired. There will be two fuel lines at the rail, the feed line in from the gas tank, and a return line from the rail back to the tank. If there is a pressure regulator on the fuel rail (it will have a short vacuum line hose to it), the regulator may also have an o-ring to keep from leaking where it mounts.

How do you take off the fuel rail on a 1996 Volvo 960?

Hesitation is rarely due to injector problems! Have you checked the throttle position sensor, and checked for possible vacuum leaks? What about the EGR valve?

My 1996 cavalier is leaking fuel from the fuel rail how do i fix it?

Well, it could be leaking through damaged o-rings on the fuel rail at the fuel injectors. Maybe get a new set at the local salvage yard and install it on the car. Clips hold the injectors onto the rail.

This is a very dangerous condition, and if not experienced with working around gasoline, maybe should try to get a technician to do it for you.

I have fuel leaking from the fuel rail at the 2nd injector from the front. The leak seems to be coming from where the metal of the fuel rail conects to the plastic....

Maybe an O-ring is leaking. Try a new injector that comes with an o-ring to be sure it's not the injector itself.

Leaking fuel rail

Recheck the o-ring on that injector, the one up at the fuel rail to make sure it didn't get damaged.
Try and seat the injector into the fuel rail first, then push it gently into the manifold, ( that is if you haven't already did that).

I have a gas leak under my hood. We replaced a part to try and stop the leak but it did not work. I dont know the name of the part. What else could it be?

your gonna have to find the leak source.. possibilties are fuel rail input and output seals.. fuel injector seals, fuel injector rails and fuel injectors. your gonna have to check them all and find the leak.

Have a fuel leak under front of car

I would trace fuel lines from tank to fuel rail on motor. These are high pressure lines so do not try to quick-fix them. You will have to measure the lines and replace them if they are leaking. Unless the fuel is leaking from lines by fuel rail or by fuel filter.
