No,the cat is not the problem, removed mine, got more power and better gas mileage, what size engine do you have, when was the last time you changed the fuel filter.

Dakota won't accelerate Boggs down

Fuel or air prob. Check MAF- mass air flow sensor on air intake if 1990 or newer. Main jet on carb if older-rebuild carb. Also oxygen sensor on exhaust just past manifold. Also EGR valve - clean with brake cleaner. Vacuum leak not advancing ignition maybe - check with engine running spray starting fluid around vacuum line connections aee if engine revvs. There's one line under carb that connects to engine that gets heat-damaged

I have a 99 chrysler sebring lxi coupe. and it starts and runs but when u try to drive it boggs down. what could this be

clean the throttle body, disconnect the MAF to se if problem goes away. Clean MAF or replace it. Check IAC, idle air control valve, replace if needed. MAF is Mass Air Flow. Use only electronic carb cleaner! Regular carb cleaner will damage MAF.Check throttle linkage for kink or blockage.

Keep getting same 3 codes, MAF, random misfire and EGR I have replaced air and fuel filters, Mass air flow sensor, cleaned the EGR and reinstalled, replaced plugs which were old, cap, rotor and wires all...

No vac leaks...have you put a vacuum gauge on a manifold tap and checked the vacuum reading? Vacuum should be steady at 17-22 inches. If much lower than that, below 15 inches, you may still have an air leak-check the intake manifold gasket, and throttle body assembly gasket. Spray carb cleaner around the sealing areas while engine running, listen for rpm surge or change in pitch. Does the big air boot have any tears or punctures, and is it clamped down tight?

What is the fuel pressure reading? Does it match specs for your vehicle?
A cylinder compression test may be called for if you cannot find any other reason for the misfires. Look for low compression figures that may signal a valve problem, or valve timing problem.

Bogs down when throtttling, even at high speeds

Clean your MAF (mass air flow sensor).

Google a Youtube video on how to do it.

You just need electrical parts cleaner or MAF cleaner.

1998 dodge ram without 02 sensor howwill it run

If you run the engine without an o2 sensor your emissions and fuel management systems will not work correctly.First thing to do if the engine revs high is to take the idle air control valve off and clean the carbon out of it and the throttle body using a non-chlronated brake cleaner. Then reset the computer by disconnecting the ground on the battery for 30 seconds or pull the ECM fuse or with a code reader. If the problem exists do the same with the mass air flow sensor.Let me know the results.

1994 isuzu rodeo backfiring out of air cleaner and muffler

Check if there isn't any blown "engine control" fuse. It looks like the computer isn't adjusting the timing as the engine accelerates. I assume you've already checked for open circuits at the ignition system. If not, do so, making sure all your connections are tight.

My car boggs and skips in low rpm and tried to put in timing, and i feel like injector problem

Have the fuel filter first checked out.

If this happens also in idle check for loose vacuum hoses or loose wiring for the sensors. The idle air control valve may also be dirty. Have this cleaned out first. A spray of carb cleaner in the intake may help. It could clear out dirt in the MAF sensor.

Other than that have the injector and the fuel pump tested for its pressure.

Stall out when given gas to excellerate ... runs fine in idle

For all those out there that have had problems with your Chevy Aveo Stalling, inconsistent idling, hard to start, or throttle problems, Hollywood Harv has the answer for you. Try a new Valve Idling Air Cont GM part number 93744675. You only need one and it has to be install by Chevrolet so they can place in the codes to make it work properly. Toss the old one away as most likely has so much carbon build up on the part that it stuck or struggling to function properly. It worked on mine after many different attempts at other stuff! This is a sure winner! Good luck and drive safe! Hollywood Harv
