Fuse panel how do you know if a fuse is bad

Remove it & hold it to the light & see if it is open
You can check them with a volt meter while in the
car, black lead to ground & probe both little metal
points on the fuse with key on, if necessary.
Each Side should have battery voltage
You can use the buzzer feature on meter
& put your lead across the fuse prongs

I have a bad fuse 60 maxi I/P fuse panel I need to know what components are powered by this fuse in a 1998 ford explorer 4.0l

If you have to pull the fuse to stop battery drain. You probaly have a bad relay. Find out what the fuse operates by looking at your fuse box lid, and then see if you see a relay for the same componet. If so replace that relay.

Hello there. I have a 2000 ford windstar. My rear windows are not working. I think it is the fuse. I am wondering where on the panel is that fuse?

Hi, the fuse for these is #18. It's 10 amps, but I think it runs the radio too, so it may not be the problem. I have pasted the diagrams below. If the fuse is good, I would pull up the switch panel and check for power between the purple and black wires when the key is on. If no power you have a bad wire or bad ground connection. If you have power, the switch may be bad. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

2002 ford taurus 3.0 dohc no radio no blower no wipers or windows operate. possible cause??

most likely messed up the fuses if its not working, check the fuse box under the hood, there should be a diagram on the fuse box panel so you can locate the specific fuses. if you dont know whether or not the fuses are bad, the fuse has a bridge within it, if the bridge looks damaged/broken then its bad.

Windows will not operate--don't know where fuse panel is

donot force the power windows if they arent working. The motor inside the door that operates the motor probably is jammed. The fuse must be behind the glove compartment near ECU fuse panel.if the Window fuse is bad then put a new one of the same rating. If that goes bad too, you need to check for three things.first check the window panel if it isnt short.if thats ok then you should check the window motors they are probably jammed and are putting too much load on the fuse to operate.lube them with WD 40 , also the window channels.if the problem fixes nothing to be done further.if fuse go bad again , you need to check the window panel wiring that might probably be short at some point.

I do not know where the fuse for the cigarette lighter in my 2002 buick century is located and it needs to be replaced

Open the passenger door. On the right side of the dash panel there is a plastic panel labeled "FUSES". It pop off and your should find your bad fuse there. On the backside of the panel, there is a schematic showing what fuse goes to where. Good Luck.

The gauges for my speedometer, rpm, gas tank, temperature stopped working I know its a bad fuse but I dont know which one because I lost my owner's manual

Check EVERY fuse. Use a 12V test light. Take the test light and clip it to a metal part of the car and test each fuse with the tip. If both sides light up the light, the fuse is good. If only one side lights but the other side doesn't, the fuse is bad. Fuses are made to be tested like this. With a test light, it will maybe take 1 minute to check every fuse. If all fuses test good, these instrument panels had issues with bad solder joints.
