Run fault codes and look for problems in the MAF sensor--- accelerator position sensor--- and idle speed sensor.. Have a pressure test done on the fuel system to check for other faults that will cause this problem

SOURCE: Runs great, but stumbles(200/300 RPM)at idle

Thats usually a bad symptom. Burnt valve. Do you see white smoke when you first start the car in the morning? If so valve guides and and valves need work. I just went through it with my car. I removed the head and had it overhauled 2 hundred bucks. and now it runs great. Good luck P.S if you have a shop do it it will be 14 hundred.

SOURCE: Rough idle(200-300RPM)off idle runs great no white smoke

Have you changed your fast idle valve or air idel control valve I would change the air idle valve because it is the one with an electric sensor.

SOURCE: 86 mustang 5.0 fuel injected. At cold, starts

Your fuel air mixture is wrong. Just like a choke. When it is cold it dumps more fuel in, when it warms up it is supposed to mix in more air. It does not seem to be doing this. You need to have that adjusted. In the meantime you can adjust you idle a little higher. You can do this by adjust a screw where the throttle cable sits on top of the engine.... Please give a good rating, it reaaly means a lot. Please feel free to keep in touch

Sputtered died

A 22r engine uses a carburetor, and a 22rec is fuel injected. If you have the fuel injected model, the throttle position sensor could be faulty.

I have a 1992 Honda prelude that when it starts up it idles at 1100rpms fine but after it runs for like five minutes it drops idle to 900rpms and as soon as I hit the gas it stalls out..... It starts right...

on a cold start car will idle fast till it warms up then will drop to about 1000 rpm, try increacing idle speed so when it warms and drops it should stay idleing
