Have the fault codes read. Replace faulty items. Use only genuine items as non-genuine replacement are not always compatible with the OEM fitted CPU units. Look for fuel pressure problems and MAF sensor problems.

first off , ill guess there is no odd noises.
and that means jerking can be 2 things (sure more but)
engine jerks, does it only?
or transmission slips then stops slipping resulting in a jerk.

get it serviced, with persons that can drive and experience this live.

What is wrong with my car when it jerks in drive

jerks when?

moving the shift lever. with hand?

moving car. in gear, name the gear, drive, L or reverse?

jerks from, 1 to 2nd gear, 2nd to 3? or ? (or when IT down shifts)

pretend we are blind (we are) and cant drive car,(hopeless) and

tell us exactly what works and dont work driving.

hot /cold engine, fast /slow/ accelerating/ decelerating, up hills and what gears.

if engine is hot, is your idle at 800 RPM parked, in park.

y/s

if not the idle controls are out of control and when you shift to drive

IT will jerk. this is an engine problem.

there are lots of other symptoms.

Why my 2000 gmc serria 1500 jerking on start of driving problem

I don't understand what you mean by "jerking on start driving". Are you saying that it only jerks when you take off from a start when cold or all the time? How does it run after that? Need more detailed information. My best guess at this point would be to start with a fuel filter. Sounds fuel related to me.

When I take off from a dead stop the vehicle jerks 3 times consistantly. I've tried manually shifting, accelerating slowly, accelerating quickly and it still jerks 3 times nearly every time

i think this is impossible to tell you without being able to drive the car.things are more complicated then we would like. the fact that taking off slowly also causes this jerking seems to eliminate an enginge missfire which would be the first thing that would probably cause jerking. does it feel like the rear prakes are sticking on thi can be a problem with the parking brake cables rusted inside ther casing.four wheel drive problems could be a u jouint or drive shaft issue. have a mechanic at least drive it to get som feel for where the problem is.
