Wont start after resetting the computer - 2004 Ford Explorer

1 Answer

You mean disconnecting the battery?
There is nothing reset on any vehicle
That clears all codes & data, needed to
diagnose problems, never do that if you
have vehicle problems
Try turning the key on & off 3 times
May or may not be what your asking.

Mazda 6 2003 oil filter cover broke i fixed it and now the car wont start do i need to reset the computer

Dom you have a manual?
Even if you do not reset, the car should start (The Jeep Grand Cherokee start anyway), but maybe the Mazda won"t.
At the oil filter cover, did you find some wire, switch or something electrical?

There is not a computer reset button installed on the car anywhere you need to have a computer that connects to the ecu on the car (the cars computer) with the computer attached you can reset codes or reset the computer.

Car won't start after changing battery

Sounds like your theft system. You can reset it by leaving the key in the on postion for 15-20 minutes. IF this doesn't work, you may need to visit the dealership.

there is no actual reset procedure- if its not starting, reseting the pcm will not fix the problem. i would suggest checking the fuel pump or ignition system first

It might be your key the chip thats in it might need to be reprogammed or you might need a new key. You can only get the key from a dealer about $75.
