Will my car stop running if the catalyic converter goes out

Hi Denis, The Catalytic converter can become blocked and if that happens the vehicle will eventually fail to start. I suggest having a diagnostic scan carried out on your vehicle if it is failing to start. Regards John

My honda crv engine check flashes when the engine is running

when a check engine light is flashing it means you have serious problem that could cause major damage like lots of misfires from poor tune up components which will cause a clogged catalyic converter or a lean condition which could burn valves stop driving it and have it scanned

2000 Maxima just replaced 02 sensors & computer reprogrammed. Now engine light on again w/3 diff codes. This is a California car mechanic can not find the place for the speed sensor.Where does it go?...

Hello. I have never heard of a " Catalyic " code before, what was the number designated for that? The speed sensor should be located on the drivers side transaxle housing towards the rear of the housing. How does the vehical run otherwise? These are usualy very excellant cars. Thank you , Quinn

Catalyic converter

call the dealer and have them run your VIN, if there is a recall that will show up on the print out. There is no other way to be sure, all recalls go by Vehicle ID numbers.
