SOURCE: Radiator Fan continuously running with engine off, discharging battery

It is not the fault: for long time Renault has that concept, that is to prevent engine oveheating when coolant circulation is suddenly stopped.

Radiator fan can continue to work up to 10 minutes after engine is off. You should worry about it only if it wouldn't stop even after 10 minutes.

SOURCE: radiator fans not working 1998 dodge caravan

First thing I would check is the fuse or the fan relay, located in the power distribution box under the hood. If that's not the problem, then I would find the coolant temperature sensor, unplug it with the key on and the fans should run.

SOURCE: The electric radiator cooling fan will not turn off

As long as the fan eventually shuts off this isn't a problem, the fan will continue to run for a bit after the car is turned off, once it reaches a set temprature it will turn off.

05 Durango 5.7 Hemi overheating. We replaced the water pump it was leaking. While we were doing that we changed the thermostat, flushed the radiator, replaced the belt and the coolant temp sensor.

You need to verify you have power going to the fans or run the Durango and see if the fan are coming on, you may have a bad wire or relay to the fans.

2000 durango cooling system fan running non-stop

Many engine control system faults can cause the radiator cooling fan to come on and run non-stop. Also, if your A/C is on or if you have your heating and cooling controls in DEFROST mode, this can cause the radiator cooling fan to come on (normal operation). Or there could be a cooling fan circuit malfunction (like a stuck relay) causing this to happen.

Check to see what mode your climate controls are in. If the climate controls are not in A/C or DEFROST modes, then you should have your engine control system properly diagnosed to determine the cause of the radiator fan being on continuously.

Also, if the Check Engine light is on, this is a clue that the engine control system is malfunctioning.

I have a 2001 Dodge Durango. The radiator fan continues to run after turning off the vehicle. I have disconnected the battery to keep it from draining the battery overnight. Is this a thermostat problem...

There is a coolant temperature sensor that signals the fan to come on at a certain temperature, the coolant temperature sensor is faulty, change it and you will have resolved the issue.

I was stuck in traffic for about 20 miles and then when i got to my destination the fan was running. its been running for the last 3 hours what should i do?

It sounds like the electric radiator fan relay has gone bad and needs to be replaced. You can remove the fuse to the radiator fan for now so ti will not drain the battery. You'll find the fuse in the fuse box under the hood by the battery. Good luck and replace the relay soon as you can, Auto Zone will have the relay you need and can give you the step by step instructions for you to replace it in about 5 min. Keep me posted if you have any more question.

Do the radiator fans turn when engine hot? Try turning them when engine is off and cold; they should spin freely. Could be bad solid state relay that controls them. Try blowing the debris out of the radiator fins from the inside of the engine compartment.
