There is a mega fuse just off the positive battery wire not the one that has the jumper post on it. It looks like 150 amp

It would seem to be a fuse or fusible link problem. Check the wiring diagram in the shop manual for the vehicle and check the fusible link that is common to headlight and fuel pump power supply and the other systems which are not working. If the fusible link checks okay check the main multipoint connector in the main wiring harness to the fuse block from the battery.

Find main fuse to panel under the hood

ALT would be for Alternator. A LOT of current (100 - 150 amps) comes through. Not sure if this would be your main or not. Often cars have a fusible link inline with the battery.

Polarity was reversed when jump starting vehicle installed new battery & no power to anything mechanic said fuse got blown. What fuse, where it is located & cost of it.

Hard to say without make, year, and model-but check all fuses in the power distribution box under the hood- ignition, alternator fuse, etc.-all of them, the small ones and the maxi-fuses. All fuses are pretty cheap. If you still have nothing, you may need a wiring diagram to check for fusible links that would be power distributors right off or near the battery. Fusible links work much like a fuse, and most have been replaced by maxi-fuses, but many vehicles have both. If there is a designated main fuse, it should be in the distribution block or box under the hood.

I put my battery in wrong in my 95 avalon now nothing happens when I trun the key, whats wrong?

It all depends on how lucky you are today. Connecting the battery backwards can destroy some high-dollar stuff. If you are really lucky, you will only have a blown fuse (or fuses). Check both of your main fuse blocks on the left side of the engine compartment,
One of the boxes is called the "Fusible Link" box and the other is called the "Engine Compartment Junction Block" (J/B) (See picture below).
Your main circuits are protected by the 40 Amp and 80 Amp fusible links in the Fusible Link box and the 120 Amp Alternator Fuse in the Junction Block. You will most likely find one or more of these fuses/fusible links blown.

I am not getting a signal to my fuel pump, fuel pump relay nor the 10 amp fuel pump relay fuse. I have checked my wiring from the ECM to the FPR and it is good. Where does the power come from through the...

The fuel pump relay is powered by a fusible link connected to the starter solenoid on the positive battery terminal. That fusible link feeds the 10 amp fuse near the relay. You can test the fusible links with a 12 volt test lamp. If the fusible link test okay check for an open circuit in the wire between the link and the 10 amp fuse. Hope this gets you fixed.

Replaced the alternator and ther is no power going to the new alternator what is wrong replaced battery and checked all the fuses

Hi,
If there is no power supply to the main terminal on the alternator then you have either a fusible link problem or a broken wire from the fusible link to the alternator.
You need to check continuity and also check the main fusible links, which look like wires just looped over.

I have a 1986 Chevrolet El Camino V6. Brand new battery. Car is completely dead. Was running great and all of a sudden went dead. NO power at all, no lights or horn. I checked battery connections. What...

IF THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED, 12.60 VOLTS & THE CABLES ARE CLEAN & TIGHT, THERE ARE FUSIBLE LINKS AT THE STARTER THAT SUPPLY POWER TO EVERYTHING IN THE VEHICLE. THEY ARE FASTENED ON THE SAME LARGE TERMINAL AS THE MAIN BATTERY CABLE ON THE STARTER. THE FUSIBLE LINKS ARE SPECIAL WIRES DESIGNED TO BURN INTO IF A SHORT CIRCUIT HAPPENS. THE BIG BLACK THING THERE IS NOT A FUSE, IT IS JUST A CONNECTOR. TO FASTEN THE MAIN WIRE TO THE FUSIBLE LINK WIRE. IF YOU PULL ON THE FUSIBLE LINK IT WILL STRETCH LIKE STIFF RUBBER. IF IT STRETCHES IT WILL NEED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. IF IT DOESN'T STRETCH IT IS PROBABLY OK & IT MAY BE A BAD CABLE.

I droped the motor and trans replaced the rear main! I put every thing back hooked everything back up.there are no dash lights no headlights and none of the fuses are getting power!!!???????

The battery terminals may have been corroded to start with, and sitting off for a day could have made it worse. So wire brush and grease them.
Then remember the engine ground strap you removed has to be reinstalled.
But check the body ground connection as well. It should also be brushed and greased.
Then use a test light to trace where power stops.
The starter it the first junction to check.
There is a main fusible link either in the wire to the fusebox or in the fusebox.

I believe they look like one of them in this link:

Fusible Link

never change a link or fuse with a larger one. It is there to protect the remainder of the system. You need to find out what is wrong and fis that probem.
