Hello how much have to be fuel pressure on 1.6 tdi CR engine code CAYD, at idle, i have about 380 bar and its too much, and there is a fault p229b

you may have two oxugen sensors on your yukon. if so the oxygen sensor that controls that bank may be bad. from what you mentioned in your complaint, it sounds like it is the oxygen sensor.

most likely idle air control sensor or low engine coolant I know sounds funny but IAC uses coolant to regulate idle. Idle air control valve or throttle body positioning sensor.

P0356
- Ignition Coil F Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
The ignition signal from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module(ECM) is sent to and amplified by the power transistor. The power transistor turns ON and OFF the ignition coil primary circuit. This ON/OFF operation induces the proper high voltage in the coil secondary circuit.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Lack/Loss of Power
- The engine may be harder to start
- Engine hesitation

Possible Causes:
- Open or short in the ignition coil circuit
- Ignition coil circuit shorted to ground
- Ignition coil connector
- Damaged ignition coil
- Damaged PCM or ECM

Possible Solution:
- If damage, repair ignition coil circuit
- Replaced ignition coil
- Replaced PCM or ECM

P0152 - O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
The heated oxygen sensor 1 is placed into the exhaust manifold. It detects the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas compared to the outside air. The heated oxygen sensor 1 has a closed-end tube made of ceramic zirconia. The zirconia generates voltage from approximately 1V in richer conditions to 0V in leaner conditions. The heated oxygen sensor 1 signal is sent to the ECM. The ECM adjusts the injection pulse duration to achieve the ideal air-fuel ratio. The ideal air-fuel ratio occurs near the radical change from 1V to 0V.

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- High Fuel Consumption
- Excessive Smoke from Exhaust

Possible Causes:
- Harness or connectors (The heated oxygen sensor 1 heater circuit is open or shorted.)
- Front Heater oxygen sensor heater (Bank 2) may be faulty

Possible Solution:
Replacing the O2 Sensor 1 usually takes care of the problem

P0174 - Fuel Injection System Too Lean Bank 2
With the Air/Fuel Mixture Ratio Self-Learning Control, the actual mixture ratio can be brought closely to the theoretical mixture ratio based on the mixture ratio feedback signal from the heated oxygen sensors 1. The ECM calculates the necessary compensation to correct the offset between the actual and the theoretical ratios.

In case the amount of the compensation value is extremely large (The actual mixture ratio is too lean.), the ECM judges the condition as the fuel injection system malfunction and light up the MIL (2 trip detection logic).

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Excessive Fuel Consumption

Possible Causes:
- Intake air leaks
- Front Heated oxygen sensor may be faulty
- Injectors may be faulty
- Exhaust gas leaks
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Lack of fuel
- Mass air flow sensor may be faulty
- Incorrect PCV hose connection

Possible Solution:
Dirty air filter of faulty air flow sensor are common causes of the problem.

P2197 - DODGE - Sys Too Rich at Hier Load Bank1
Means that the O2 sensors on each bank are seeing WAY too much oxygen in the exhaust gas. In normal operation the signal from the O2 sensors should swing back and forth between rich and lean. Your sensors are locked on lean.

Those codes are the same as P0174 (and P0171). Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Most common place is the PCV elbow where it connects to the throttle body adapter.

In your case the pressure sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced. 1) Stores pressurized fuel (25 to 180 MPa) that has been delivered from the supply pump and distributes the fuel to each cylinder injector. A rail pressure sensor and a pressure limiter valve are adopted in the rail. 2) The rail pressure sensor (Pc sensor) detects fuel pressure in the rail and sends a signal to the engine ECU, and the pressure limiter controls the excess pressure. This ensures optimum combustion and reduces combustion noise. ---- Rail • The rail is mounted between the supply pump and the injector, and stores the high-pressure fuel. --------- Injector:-------- • This injector replaces the conventional injection nozzle, and achieves optimal injection by effecting control in accordance with signals from the engine ECU. Signals from the engine ECU determine the duration and timing in which current is applied the injector. This in turn, determines the quantity, rate and timing of the fuel that is injected from the injector. ------------ Rail Pressure Sensor (Pc Sensor) 1) The pressure sensor detects the fuel pressure of the rail, and sends a signal to the engine ECU. The sensor is made from a semiconductor that uses the Piezo resistive effect to detect changes in electrical resistance based on the pressure applied to the elemental silicon. Fuel rail pressure too low


You didn't say whether petrol or diesel engine...

In the case of trouble or doubt regarding fuel filters it is best practice to cut open the filter and carry out a close examination for possible contaminants.

Fuel pressure is important, in fact a common rail diesel won't even start if there is insufficient pressure, but the volume of fuel delivered is at least as important as the achievable pressure - without sufficient volume the required pressure simply won't be achieved.

No fuel system check is complete unless the delivery volume has been tested and found satisfactory. If it isn't satisfactory the fuel tank, the pump screen, the pump and pipework should be checked. The pump screen if fitted is so fine water will not pass through it and so water in the fuel tends to reduce the volume.

I suggest you have the fuel system checked - properly!

2005 2KD Hiace, starts lazy,revs good when it starts but accelerator goes dead, check light comes on, then in about 2 minuets the engine dies. 093 code.

so its P0093 large fuel leak

I'm trying to change the fuel pressure regulater valve on my 2004cts cadilac.I checked the fuel rail not there. Someone told me It is on top the gas tank.Please help me locate it.


What engine does yours have ? 3.6 L engine the regulator is inside the fuel tank !
2.6 an 3.2L is on the fuel rail !
5.7L inside fuel tank !
The fuel pressure regulator attaches to the fuel return pipe on the fuel sender assembly. The fuel pressure regulator is a diaphragm-operated relief valve. A software bias compensates the injector on-time because the fuel pressure regulator is not referenced to manifold vacuum. The injector pulse width varies with the signal from the mass air flow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.
With the engine running at idle, the system fuel pressure at the pressure test connection should be between 380-410 kPa (55-60 psi). With the system pressurized and the pump OFF the pressure should stabilize and hold. If the pressure regulator supplies a fuel pressure which is too low or too high, a driveability condition will result.
You would have to change The modular fuel pump sender assembly !

Sorry i assume this is a diesel but its all electronic now and way above my head ,now in the good old days of a bosch or lucas injector inline fuel pump i could do anything from re-setting the injectors with a big bowl with a pump to re-calibrating the injector pump on the engine with it running but this is beyond me ,but on reading the question again then thinking ,yes i know iam old and it hurts to think but the wires to the injectors is the clue i think ,4 wires which could be running a feed information back to the computer which its not recieving ,the newer vehicle having a different software programme so you may need to change the computer for the later model then look at the pin layout of the later computer and work out what you need to leave disconnected other than this use all the original parts for this year and build vehicle .

Rover 75 diesel starts ok runs 10 seconds then cuts out restarts ok injectors tested ok fuel pressure ok


I know you say that you have checked pressures but incase you didn't know, there are 3 pumps on the car.

In tank = 1 bar upto an inline pump by the battery which increases to 3 bar then to the one on the engine that tops 2000 bar

The one by the battery + the intank one are VERY common to fail.

Other thing to check is that the pressure sensor on the rail is reading correctly.

Does it have any stored data? If no codes the it would be best to get it on some decent equipment that reads live data like Bosch KTS etc

If you aren't getting a error code from the cars computer maybe you do have low fuel pressure.

This can be checked using a fuel pressure guage. It should be done by a mechanic who knows diesel engines and VW's in particular.

Install fuel pressure guage, clamp off return side and verify the exact pressure it is producing to the injector rail. Checkmanufacturer specs. If it is not sufficient. Replace pump.

2002 vw bettle tdi surging, only at idle in gear. clears up under power


is this model common rail or does it have an injector pump,injector pump has a built in lift pump and if this is weak then the transfer pressure is low which is causing scavanging.if this is the case then fitting an in line non return valve in the fuel in line can help,but more often than not fitting a low pressure in line fuel pump is a cheaper solution than an injector pump overhaul
