Question about 1989 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer
My 1989 S10 4.3L suddenly will not start after parking it overnight. The fuel pump and filter were replaced about 2k miles ago. The ECm fuses are good and the fuel pump relay clicks after a few seconds with the key turned on. However, I do not hear the fuel pump run. I disconnected and reconnected the 2 wire connector going to the fuel tank and re-seated the ground strap going from the frame to the tank filler tube.

First, you need to check the MAF sensor for contamination.
Second, check fuel pressure, if you dont have a gauge, autozone and Advance have them on their tool loaner program.
Should see 35-40 psi with key on engine off, cycle key a few times, if it takes a while to build up, replace filter and retest.
Third, possible convertor blockage, easiest check is to remove the 02 sensor and try to start with the hole open, if it runs, then that is it, specs allow for 2-3 lbs of back pressure max. That means if you can hear pressure escaping, it is a problem area.

Your ECU is what acctivates your fuel pump realy. Put the key on the run possition and pull the ecu fuse for a few seconds and reinstall it ans it should accivate your realy for 5 seconds, Good luck.

SOURCE: turns over, doesn't fire. No gradual problem, just didn't start this morning. No fuel to fuel filter, wondered where the fuel pump relay is, is there a fuel pump fuse, and where is the ground wire f
Yes it has a fuel pump relay. It's located somewhere in your Main Fuse box.It can be found under the hood near the Fiewall or the front end of the vehicle.

SOURCE: 1994 S10 Blazer Fuel Issues?
YOU SHOULD INSTALL ORIGINAL GM PART AND NOT AFTER MARKET. I INSTALLED 2 AFTER MARKET PUMPS THEY WORKED FOR A WHILE THEN STOPPED. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT ENOUGH PRESSURE, SINCE I INSTALLED GM PART NO PROBLEM.......
