Try opening the hood at night and while the engine is running, carefully look for blue sparks around the plug wires. A lot of time when the wires get old, the electricity will arc to any metal parts that it can. Check along the whole length of the wires and down by the spark plugs. Also make sure all of the spark plug boots are properly connected to the spark plugs by pushing them on firmly when the engine is off.

Change the fuel filter. If that doesn't do it then focus on the ignition components. See if there is a code in the computer, clear it and re-read it.

Have you noticed a check engine light on? Does the Van sit outside overnight or for days at a time? I have had the same symptoms with my cars in the past due to mice or chipmunks leaving accorns in the catalytic converter. It could be converter breaking apart as well.

No power when accelerating hard

Possibly a plugged catylitic converter. This can cause to much back pressure and that will cause the engine to run poorly under acceleration or loaded conditions.

This seems like you have an emissions problem and could be many things from your oxygen sensors to your catalytic converters. If your truck is under one hundred thousand miles is should still be under warrenty and the dealership should replace for free
