Question about 1991 Geo Prizm

Bleeding Salve Cylinder

I asked a question about my clutch. The answer I got was to bleed it. I did & it still acts like my clutch isn't engaged. I even drained & cleaned the cylinder & then bled it again. Still acts the same.

Maybe your clutch master cylinder is bad.

Need help bleeding clutch

Clutch bleeding can be problematic and I have had to resort to removing the slave cylinder but leaving the hydraulic line connected and raising it as far as the flexible pipe will allow. above the master cylinder and bleeding it in mid-air.

Reverse bleeding can be very effective and with a long-travel large capacity cylinder the piston can be pumped out to the limit of its travel and then forced very quickly back in as far as it will go.

Anotther type of reverse bleeding I have been forced to employ a few times is connecting the clutch bleed screw to a nearby brake bleed screw with some very good fitting hose. Both bleeders are opened and the clutch is bled by pumping the brake pedal. An assistant adds fluid to the brake reservoir and removes it from the clutch reservoir.
Four or five vigorous pumps usually does the trick.

Good luck!

How do i bleed clutch on 2000 trans am ws6 ram air

I\'m assuming this is the one with the 5.7L LS1 V8. Ok, bleeding the clutch is real no different than bleeding your brakes. Locate our slave cylinder.(Not the reservoir) In most cases, it\'s best to start with a gravity bleeding. Make sure the reservoir is full, loosen the bleeder on the slave cylinder, until you have a steady stream coming out. Then tighten the bleeder, and check the peddle.SUCKAUTION**** MAKE SURE THE BLEEDER VALVE IS TIGHTENED AND CAP IS ON THE RESERVOIR BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE CLUTCH PEDDLE!!! AS MISSING THIS STEP WILL **** UP AIR INTO THE LINE.Step 2, have a friend sit inside the car, and continuously pump the clutch(like bleeding brakes) about 10 pumps should do it. Have friend hold the peddle to the floor and announce that it is to the floor. ***They must hold the peddle to the floor*****while they are holding the peddle, loosen the bleeder valve until fluid comes out. repeat process until no micro bubbles come out, just clean fluid. Finally, remember to top off your fluids after bleeding, as you will naturally loose some in the process. Hope this helps. ^^

Can not bleed clutch on 1987 GMC 2500

There is still air in the system. Try bleeding the m/cyl first by removing the line to the slave cyl and while holding you finger over the opening have someone gently operate the pedal. When you get good fluid past your finger reconnect the line then bleed the slave cyl. as normal.

Why does clutch leak off and wont go into gear 96 toyota tacoma when you push on clutch pedal goes to the floor it wont engage clutch to be able to put into gear

the most likely reason is either the clutch master cyl. needs to be replaced.or the.slave cyl. its mounted down on the transmation under the hood find the resivore for the clutch. check the fluid level.if its low , fill it back up , and look for signs of a leak
you will probally have to bleed out all of the air from the system.its done almost the same way as bleeding the brakes. Good Luck.

My clutch seems to have gone out tonight. The clutch is very easy to push to the floor...and it pops back....there's no pressure at all. The clutch fluid is leaking from the hose. Could this be the...

it could be either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder,it could also be the clutch pressure plate check the master & slave cylinders first because if it's the pressure plate the gear box will have to be removed to replace the pressure plate, even if you are uncertain it is most likely cheaper to replace the master & slave cylinders than it would be to replace the pressure plate.....hope this helps......cheers.

Clutch pedal goes to the floor. how much should replacement cost be for a 93 nissan pickup?

Hi Geohair,
If you take away the "H" I think you trouble will be there. I believe that either the master or slave cylinder for the clutch operation has worn seals and should be replaced. Have a look to see where it looks wet, either at the master cylinder or the slave cylinder (which is the one usually to give problems. Replace the defective cylinder or cylinders, bleed the air from the system and wallah, the action should return to normal. About the cost, sorry can't answer that as it will depend where you are on this space ship of ours. Regards Johngee10

New clutch in 2010 but still can't shift properly; sticks between **** changes

you clutch needs bled better, i'm currently going through this now. If bleed your clutch hydrolics, and after a few days it starts sticking again, you will need a new clutch master cylinder and slaves cylinder. About $70 at autozone. Make sure when you bleed it you get NO AIR not even little bubbles coming out of the bleeder. Bleeding the cluch is much more difficult that bleeding the brakes.

Audi a3 1996 1.6 5 speeds model. 1st flexi clutch pipe split..no clutch replaced pipe now no gear change..could it be worn clutch? car is in garage! help tp

First you must air bleeding out from inside hydraulic clutch acting system ! On the slave cylinder you will find an aeration screwed ventil provided for air bleeding. See picture below:

ee99bec.png Two person are necessary for this operation. One person for acting the clutch pedal and another person for air bleeding out from inside hydraulic clutch acting system by unscrewing the aeration ventil from slave cylinder. This operation is difficult, and must spend some time for successful result!

The clutch is acting like it is not bleeding at all? What is the problem

You will need to push the plunger on the slave cylinder at the trans all the way in when you bleed it! But 'never' push your peddle to the floor! Too late now. Right? When ever bleeding brakes or clutch, going beyond the normal travel can take a master cylinder beyond rust an ****, scoring the O rings! Frankster016
