The air conditioner blows cold when I'm driving but if I'm at a stop sign or in park it blows hot air. Help

Have you checked the freon pressures to see if it is low, and is the radiator fan running ?

The fan is working, hot air comes out, but the cold air doesn't.What it's wrong with the air conditioner, and how much do you think it's gonna cost to fix it?

Have a shop which specializes in radiators and air conditioners figure out what is wrong with it and how much to fix it. Several components and connections in the system could be bad, impossible to even guess what is wrong with it just not working.

How to troubleshoot the electrical air conditioning system 2000 GMC Yukon Denali. I put in new resistor, relay and dealer blower motor and it still doesn't do anything. Air conditioning control switch...

The compressor on the air conditioner in my 2000 GMC Yukon XL went out last summer. Had it and the whole line replaced at a local air conditioning shop last fall. Used it little before cold weather. Warm weather this spring and no cold air. We could hear the compressor trying to kick in. The shop told us that the control console was bad and had to be replaced. They told us the part was on back order and did not know if they would be abel to get one any time soon. We took the Yukon into the local GM dealership. They told us that the high side fitting was bad and that the freon was very low and that they would have to deal with that first to check the system. Called back to the air conditioning shop and they said they had a console come in and they would put it in and check the high side fitting. I now have cold air and questions. Bought Yukon in 2005 used, had always had problem of not switching to cold air once the heater has been used. We were told changing the console should fix that. It has not changed. I feel like the console angle was a scam, that the system was just low on freon. Each shop was blaming the other for trying to scam me. And what can fix the heat to cold issue? If anyone has answers I would sure appreciate the knowledge.

I have a 2002 Envoy the drivers side air vent blows hot air and passenger side blows cold air not matter what the temp is set on

It's an ongoing problem with Envoy. I had the same problem on the drivers side not getting cold air. It cost me $600. They said it was a door inside the dash that diverts the cold air and the hot air depending on what you want. Worked good for a year, and now the passenger side gets cold air and not hot. Another $600 going out the door.
The repair shop said that sometimes they can adjust it, but most of the time they have to replace it. Good Luck

Heater blowing cold air changed thermostat still cold temperature up to normal but heater still cold

you have a blend door actuator that may be bad. Its a little motor that can be a bear to swap out. Unless your pretty mechanically inclined and have the right tools you may want a shop to diagnose this to be sure.

I have a lot of heat on the drivers side, some on passenger side, but the passenger complains of cold air.

Get a new passenger. Just kidding. There are actuator motors under the dash that control little blend doors. A motor could have given out or one of the blend doors broke. The blend doors are made of plastic and the gears in the blend door motors are plastic and break with age. Another problem could be an air duct hose behind the dash may be off. If you are not pretty mechanically inclined you should take it to a repair shop. It wont be a cheap repair because most of that stuff is very hard to get to and involves removal of the dash panel. AIR conditioner not working again. replaced fan and added freeon(?) after about 1 week no more cold air... what is the problem?

Freon is the common name for the refrigerant R12 and is no longer used. New refrigerant is R134a. Each are as dangerous when it comes to fire, but freon was more dangerous to breathe, as it asphyxiated you while making you so stupid you didn't notice.

More than likely you have a leak in the system if you have no cold air. A state licensed HVAC shop and most mechanic shops will have an A/C evacuation system, which is needed to properly test your system. Simply using a can of refrigerant can easily blow your seals and require you to repair again. It's always best to take it to a shop.

Evac systems will vacuum the coolant out of the system and fill it again to specified pressure. Occasionally the techs will check the pressure & after 3 hours if no change in pressure, you're good to go. Evac system will record how much refrigerant is pulled from your system and you are only charged for what extra is needed to bring to specified pressure... + shop costs/labor.

Stay away from DIY refrigerant in a can and never* depress the stutor valve to check and see if there is refrigerant/ What you do it put moist air into the system (outside pressure is denser/higher than internal pressure of A/C system) when you or your "so-called" mechanic does this, which destroys all* the components in a short period of time.

Get the system repaired ASAP. As little as one humid day out of 2 weeks time is enough to destroy all the components. A closed, sealed system has no* condensation/moisture in it at all

AC Blower motor died

This is more than likely just the resistor as a bad motor wouldn't start at all,And low refrigerant(Freon) has nothing to do with the blower.
