How many Freon cans should it take for a 2000 Chevy Venture and which one does it take

It uses r-134a Freon and the capacity will depend on if you have rear a/c. There should be a label under the hood that shows a/c capacity that will give you an exact amount but should be around 2 lbs. for just front air and about 2.8 lbs. for front and rear.

2005 chevy venture a/c button

Test the switch itself. If the switch is providing continuity look to the A/C control module for your Venture.

Where is the a/c valae to add freon on the 2002 chevy venture van

Open the hood and look down between the rad and the engine and on the large a/c line is the low side port right close to the exhaust manifold so you can burn your hand easily.DO NOT add Freon to this system. It requires 134a refrigerant only.Be aware of aftermarket "refrigerants" with a EXPLOSIVE sticker or label on them. They are usually a mix of butane and/or propane. You may not want these products in your a/c system because in a collision situation where your vehicle interior a/c components become damaged/ruptured,a vehicle interior fire may not be a good thing for you at that time.

I have a chevy venture 1998. I put freon 134a in the low valve near the radiator in the front of the van. It blows cold air in the back of the van but not in the front. Is there another valve to put freon...

No ,there is not another valve . One low side service port an one high side service port . An only one A/C compressor . Under the hood in the engine compartment there are A/C lines going into the firewall . These go to the front Evaparator unit . With the vehicle running an A/C on do this line's (pipes) get cold ? If yes , your problem is probably the temp. actuator . Control's how hot or cold the air coming from the vent's get . If stuck half way , hot an cold air combine to make warm air . Replacing some of these actuators can require the dash to be removed . Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop .

I just bought the chevy and the ac doesnt wrk. it probably needs freon 45000 mi. how much freon should i charge? whats the best solution

Hello,
In 1994 most U.S vehicles moved to R-134a a/c system, in 1995 all U.S vehicles had this system.
You can buy the freon at any auto parts store, the large can is around $15.00.
The R-134a stsem allows anyone to recharge their own system.

I have a 2001 Chevy Venture, this fall all of the sudden the air conditioner quit blowing cool air you can push the switch for AC but it doesn't light up or blow cool air. and the rear defroster quit...

I'm afraid I must recommend some professional help with this one. Or maybe a mechanic friend.
There's so many things..... For example the 134a (freon) may have leaked causing the Low Pressure Cut Out Switch, (in the hose under the hood) to keep the compressor off so as to not burn it up.
Could be a fuse or relay. Could be the switch controll on the dash... See what I mean?
Sorry but in my opinion you'll have to bite the bullet and pay the piper. Cheaper in the long run, though. You can replace many things before you luck onto the problem part.

What recharge A/C refrigerant is used for a 1999 Chevy S10 pickup

On a 1999 s-10, your correct refridgerant is r-134a. I don't understand why wisconsin won't allow you to purchase r-134a at a auto parts store. R-12 is the refridgerant that has been banned in the US, and requires ASE air conditioning certification to purchase. I've never heard of any law anywhere prohibiting the purchase of r-134a.

Anyway, your system is a r-134a system.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.
