Question about Cars & Trucks
Air conditions knocks when i turn it on and off
The sound you hear is one of the door motors trying to run. It is likely the recirc door motor. So try moving the controls to recirc before you shut it off and if the noise does not occur the recirc motor will need to be replaced. If you already have it on recirc try moving to fresh air before shutting off. The motors have plastic gears inside that strip and will need to be replaced to repair the noise.

SOURCE: 1994 S10 Blazer Fuel Issues?
YOU SHOULD INSTALL ORIGINAL GM PART AND NOT AFTER MARKET. I INSTALLED 2 AFTER MARKET PUMPS THEY WORKED FOR A WHILE THEN STOPPED. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT ENOUGH PRESSURE, SINCE I INSTALLED GM PART NO PROBLEM.......

If it is just the pulley, and not the compressor, then yes,the bearing for this is replacable for about 20 dollars or less, but if the compressor is locked up,you will have to replace the whole ac compressor, and it`s components.

The most likely cause is a broken vacuum line in the engine compartment. The next thing would be a bad (leaking) mode control switch. (It switches the vacuum to your mode control motors.)
