That depends on the terms of the specific warranty. For exact terms contact the dealer or whomever the warranty is with.

This should be covered under warranty as long as the vehicle is less than 3yrs old and under the warranty mileage. Contact dealer to see what is covered with warranty.

I have 2008 gmc yukon xl, ive replaced two compressors and i am on my third. makes a loud noise like doesnt want to engage blows cold then hot. and car shakes under hood makes crazy sounds. "snow flake"...

Sounds like the compressor is ok, but the orifice tube may be plugged, making the high pressure side shoot up to too high of a pressure rather quickly. When the pressure on the high side goes down, then the compressor tries to turn on and circulate refrigerant again, but can't for long because of the restriction.

There could be metal filings from the older compressors which were replaced still in the plumbing. Will have to evacuate the system and replace plumbing parts as necessary.

Hopefully your compressor is covered by warranty, but I would not count on it if contamination from old compressors was not properly removed by the prior service.

I would try to get warranty service, though.

The 'snow flake' blinks showing a problem in the a/c system.

Hi there... About 2 months ago my air conditioning was blowing hot air while air con was on cold Hyundai replaced the compressor after numerous phone calls & second opinions now my air compressor is...

I can tell you general principles about A/C but have not worked on a Hyundai. If the A/C lines under the hood and directly from the black cylinder tank are frosted or sweating, you have Freon circulating.

There are 2 cutoff switches in all systems. A low pressure and high pressure cutoff. The ideal amount of Freon is in the middle of these 2 pressure points.
In this way the compressor clutch will stay engaged the longest and keep the Freon circulating the longest. This is the way you get COLD air.

There are ways to measure the pressure and to find leaks. You can sometimes loan tools from Autozone or Oreillys for a deposit. Before blaming another electrical problem for the lack of COLD air you should test the pressure of the Freon left in the system. If you are within 90 days or 3000 miles, most minimum warranties cover the parts. With factory warranty it should go farther.

In answer to your electrical concern, yes there is another system controlling the A/C. The ductwork has either vacuum operated or electrically operated doors (flaps) under the dash. These "doors" blend the airflow by mixing cold and hot air to give you the temperature you want. If you want all COLD you keep the heater door shut and so on.

So you look at these areas separately first. Under the hood is the Freon pressure good? Pipes sweating? Compressor clutch on steady? And if everything under the hood is good, then you look inside the car at the ductwork.

I hope this helps you.

What could the code po455 on a 2005 hyundai Sonata mean? and would that be covered under the manufacture warranty?

P0455 is a large evaporative system leak. If it is due to a failed part on the car, it should be covered under the 5 year 60000 mile warranty, but only a Hyundai dealership can tell you for certain if they will cover the repair under warranty. Most of the time though, this code is set by filling the tank with fuel and not tightening the fuel cap.

Is a lateral stabilizer rod covered under warranty?

All parts are covered under warranty unless the failure can be shown to be the result of misuse, improper maintenance, or neglect on the owners part. Otherwise defects in workmanship are covered so long as the time/mileage portion of the original warranty period has not been surpassed.

Best bet have someone check pressure for year. Also if you still have a warranty I would send it in and let the dealer worry about. I know it is an inconvenience but hopefully they will take care of the problem.

It may be covered under an extended warranty, but not a power train warranty, you will need to check with the dealer, they can look up the info on your warranty in a few minutes.
