One cylinder piston has seized. can it be repaired? 2006 Acura TL (manual) V6

Bad news is it can be fixed but requires complete overhaul I'll bet. Swapping in used engine might be better, or crate engine if price is not important.

I have got Bmw 316i, the first problem that i encountered with it was that when i checked the oil stick it showed that the oil need to be added and i did add it but after that the red oil light kept on...

It sound to me that you added the wrong fluid or added it in the wrong place.

When you say seized, that means the engine is locked up. that it cant be turned over either with the starter or barring the engine over with a wrench.

If you engines is in fact seized, the only way to fix it is to rebuild the engine or replace it .

Good luck my friend, Robert

2001 Saab 9-3 seized engine

Only if overheated bad enough, it could seize up the engine. But if it was seized, there is no way to do a compression test. ?? Take the bas***** to court. If truly no compression, the engine is shot, they didn't overlook anything, but they should be liable for a new engine- a warranty is a warranty or it is worthless. Sue them!

Vw golf engine seize

The engine will need to be rebuilt or replaced, depending on how extensive the damage. Either way, this will be an expensive job. Rebuilding is not a job that most people that have to ask "how to do it?" are capabable of doing. I\'m not trying to be rude- but it is really the way it is (I wouldn\'t attempt it & I\'m pretty "handy"). Talk to your mechanic and see what he says. It may not even be worth fixing..
Good luck!

My VW Golf over heated, the engine cutoff in the middle of the road and now won't start. what could be wrong?

If you over heated significantly the cylinders will expand and the engine will seize.

If seized it is dead.

It can get to a point where one cylinder seized and it will cause major problems with the crank and cams. Both of which are not something you can fix at home or have a quick fix solution.

There is a way to check if you are seized. Try turning the engine over using a wrench of ratchet on the crank bolt. The crank bolt will be on the lowest pulley on the back of the engine where the belts run. It is usually about a 19mm bolt.

Warning: turn only clockwise and never counterclockwise.

If you can turn the engine over it is not seized. If not you have a seized engine (sorry about that).

Start there.

Hope this helps.
