Go to your local library and ask the Librarian to get you on-line to the Automotive Repair Reference Center, and then to the EBSCO database...you will find all of your wiring diagrams there.

2008. What is the color of wire for the power to the ignition?

Use a multimeter to backprobe the wires at the ignition switch. You want a powered accessory wire (not the ignition wire) that shows 12V with ignition on in both the accessory (turn key counterclockwise) and run (turn key clockwise one stop) positions but not in the start position (key fully clockwise).

I'm looking for wire color and location for 12V constant hot and 12V ignition switched for a GPS tracker.

there is an easier way. at the parts store the sell a splice fuse. it cost more to get but you can run an extra wire to another component and not damage the factory wire harness. then its just a matter of checking the fuses with a voltmeter to see which fuses are hot and can handle the power. 20 or 30 amp fuse will be a better choice to plug into.

Have 98 grandam no power at purple wire at starter

Purple wire runs from Park/Neutral position switch (or clutch engage switch M/T transmission) straight to the starter solenoid. First, assuming 60A ignition switch fuse under the hood in the power distribution center good, check for 12V at YEL wire (from ignition switch) at the switch when ignition moved to START position. If 12V present at YEL, but absent at PPL (also in START position), replace the Park/Neutral switch. If no voltage present at YEL wire then must verify 12V at RED (242) to ignition switch next. If present replace ignition switch. Hope this helps.

No power coming thru power wire to my stereo decks any ideas?

You have two wire of 12V + going to your stereo, one is hot all the time and one comes from the ignition switch ( which turn on the stereo when you switch on the car), if it's the +12V one which is hot all the time, you can take another wire from your car's cigarette lighter 12V outlet. if it's the ignition +12V one, you can trace back the wire to ignition switch and change the wire if it's broken.
Hope it helps and please rate the answer if it was helpful, thanks!

Red = Ignition 12V switch turn on the deck
Black = Ground
blue purple green white= for speakers

solid color = to positive on speakers
color with black stripe = negative on speakers

I would solder and heatshrink all connections Good luck

Ignition switch damaged

You will need test light/probe to check what wire does what.First one wire will have permanant 12v,that is your base wire.Use that wire to test the others.the next wire to find is accesory wire,turn radio on and join to the 12v wire each wire until radio works.if when checking the starter tries to turn that is the starter wire.The 4th wire to test is ignition wire(power to coil)plug test light/probe into positive coil wire in the engine bay and it will light up when you join the right wire to your 12v power.That leaves 2 wires wich are usualy headlights dash etc.If you tag/label as you find each wires function it makes it easier to join to after maket key.To get vehicle to run join 12v to ignition/coil wire and touch starter wire to 12v until running then remove.When stopped do not leave 12v and coil/ignition wire joined as it will eventualy destroy ignition/coil.Good luck and hope it helps
