Look at technical manual and find LOW PRESSURE valve. Purcase R135 refrigerant and add to approx 25 lbs.A kit will come with all you need.

Where is the low port located in the engine to recharge the ac for a 2008 Chevy Malibu LTZ 3.6 v6

The low pressure side to the ac will be the Schrader valve that is the smallest size. If you are recharging it yourself try to fit you valve on both valve and you will see what I am talking about.

Can anyone give me a detailed description or photo of where the LOWER port for the AC is? I want to attempt to recharge my AC.Bernie

What is the pressure on high and low side? What is factory setting? You cant find shrader valves? You will "attempt" to do this yourself? This is how people get hurt. Just recharging systems with no no how or any idea of the above is very dangerous.

Ac blowing hot air from one day to next and all fuses are fine

need to recharge the coolant in the ac compressor, you can now do this yourself go to auto parts store and get a can of refrigerant and the hose to do this real easy and only costs about 30.00 to do yourself. Or make sure you dont have your control set to hot.

AC does not get as cold

Not a job for a do-it-yourselfer. Head to a QUALIFIED Auto Shop. It may have a leak that needs repairing before you have it recharged....

Air conditioner blower stopped working on 2004

If the blower works but its just not blowing cold air, its possible to recharge the AC system yourself. Most auto parts stores carry AC recharge kits. Instructions to recharge the AC are belowl

RECHARGING AC SYSTEM

1.Turn the truck on and turn AC on HIGH
2.Locate the low side AC line (will have a valve and cap similar to the cap on a tire)
3.Insert the oil or R-134A can to the hose (Do not turn the screw to puncture the can yet)
4.Insert the other end of the refill hose to the low side valve
5.Puncture the R-134A can with the screw on the refill hose
6.You should feel the system suction the refrigerant out of the can
7.Check for frost on the AC lines and the air blowing inside the truck
8.If frost develops and the air is cold, you've successfully recharged the system and disconnect the refill hose. DO NOT ADD MORE REFRIGERANT...overcharging the system will damage your compressor and will be less effective

Best of luck and enjoy your vacation.
Greg

Hopefully this answers your question and you're able to get your AC working again. Best of luck.

Air conditioning

some parts stores sell recharge cans of 134a. most ppl believe that the ac unit in a car naturally loses charge over time. big myth an ac unit is sealed nothing can get in or out with out there being a leak. before you waist time recharging it yourself find the leak either a loose fitting or a bad O-ring in one of the snap fittings i highly recommend taking it to a ac technician so that it can be properly evacuated to remove any moisture or other contaminants that may be in the system.
