Question about 2006 Ford Expedition
HELLO, I have a 2006 Ford Expedition and we have been having problem after problem and it in and out of the shop for going on 2 months maybe longer. The first time in the shop he changed O2 sensors and spark plug and some fan deal that he had to take the engine out in order to replace it saying that the air wasn't going through thats why when i would press the gas pedal while driving it felt like it was bogging down. (Over $700) then we took it home and not even an hour later went to leave and the check engine like came back on and started acting up again and not wanting ot accelerate. took it back to him and he said that it was some sensor that regulates the gas output and it was pricey and that it would be okay without it ... well my hubby looked that part up and for 2006 that part doesn't exist... then it just got worse.. we called him took it back and he had his diagnostic looked at and fixed and codes showed three injectors and another spark plug and coil packs which we had already replaced (Another $900)... got it back was driving great... Accelerating, A/C wasn't cutting off, gas mileage was better then 9MPG... but the check engine light came back on that day and three days later while driving it out of no where... the screen flashed several failures.. A/C cut off only thing that was going was engine and radio.. turn it off and back on and it would start a tad rough but WOULD NOT go out of park.. and nothing would lock, none of the power would work. We took off neg cable turned head lights on waited 15 mins and tried and nothing... just starting.. so needless to say the guy had to send a tow truck and he has it at his shop now... BUT i would like to see if you have any input of what this could be i can't afford much more... he said something about the memory and he was looking for the part used.. he would call.. PLEASE help..

Lots of info is really needed but i have no idea what was
That Vehicle is a 5.4 3 valve engine
The spark plugs were originally two piece & break off
They needed to come out of the motor when it was brand new
& as a result of the extended shell going into the cylinder head
I would change them every 2 years as they carbon up verse
every 3 years as I do on all vehicles
The 2004,05,06 had injector leaking issues,that ruin the converters
All Fords & Lincolns have COP Ignition Coils that
only last about 6 to 8 years & are not always easy
to diagnose,as a result some people won't work
on a ford
Front Oxygen Sensors get replaced every 100,000
miles on all vehicles.
You need to look at Cylinder Misfire Counts,Cat Temp,
& Fuel Trim through out the year using professional scan
tool or software
The PCM or computer hardly ever fails, so don't even
go there & I will guarantee you they don't have a clue
how to know it has failed
If it is replaced you have to get a subscription from
ford to reflash your vehicle build info & then updates
