Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

I have a '08 Nissan Altima SL with an Intelligent Key. My key fob stopped working slowly... First it wouldn't lock the doors, replaced the battery, then my car alarm would go off for no apparent reason a lot. Now the key wont work at all. I have to remove the hard key from the fob to open the door and I have to put the fob in the fob ignition and hope that it recognizes. Sometimes it will take a good 10 minutes of opening/closing the door, inserting/removing the fob, pressing in the break, pressing the start button. The display will flash "NO KEY". Eventually it will start but I'm afraid one day it will stop doing even that. The batteries in the fob have been replaced! Twice!

SOURCE: Sorry my car was not

You are going to need to check the power lock control moduel on the inside of the door panel. If the FOB appears to be working but the doors are not unlocking, you need to check this. I would also replace all fuses that control the locks. If both of these devices check out ok, you may need to replace your FOB. To check your power lock control moduel, manually lock and unlock your doors by pressing the lock button on the inside of the door. If it does not work, it is either the fuses or the power lock control moduel. If it works, your FOB has gone bad. Hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!

Why doesn't my 2013 Nissan Sentra recognize the FOB? Says FOB "not detected" when its in my hand. Is this a dead battery in the FOB? how do I get this fixed?

Does the key fob open the and close the door? If it does the battery is fine.

This seems to be a known problem. Move the fob closer to the Start Button.

2008 Altima with push button start. Why won't the fob unlock doors?

Insert key into and remove it from ignition more than six times in 10 seconds. When the hazards lights will flash twice insert key into ignition and turn to ACC position.
Then push any button on key fob once, the hazard lights will flash twice. Then open drivers door to END.
Should be all working again.

I changed my car battery, now my 2008 Nissan Altima key fob won't work

There is a special procedure involved in keying your fob to your car once the battery has been changed. You must lock and open the door with your key. Turn the ignition to "on"(not start) then push the fob's open and close button, then shut off ignition. This procedure is done everything the key battery is changed. Hope this can help you!

Hazard lights flash by themselves, doors won't stay locked (unlock by themselves) key fob won't work.

I has a similar problem and I just took the battery out of my remote. I think there is a problem/ short in the remote. It's as if the button is being pressed when it is not. I will use my spare one in the mean time. It was driving me crazy becuase I was driving long distance at the time and when I removed the battery it stopped. I hope this works for you!

Nissan Sylphy Intelligent-Car Remote Controller Not Working

Hi,
Some key fobs are coded and if this is so you will need to take it to your Nissan dealer with all details of the vehicle i.e. Log book/title and vin number proof of ownership. There may be a small charge for this.
Good Luck!
