SOURCE: renault clio clutch adjust
If the problem is just a clutch cable (clio 55 plate should be cable, not hidraulic), you can adjust or replace the clutch cable quit easily.
If the problem concerns instead the clutch disk, then you will need to put a car up on a bridge, empty the oil and fluid, and remove the clutch that is attached on the engine, on the right lower side.
This is usually not a job for home repair.

my warning light comes on saying "check emissions" and the manual tells me to go to my Renault dealer immediately. What is wrong? Can we drive the car normally for any distance

Fault code description: DF055 Coded line circuit,Short circuit to +12V.Active - this code DF055 is Cylinder 4 injector circuit
Try checking the voltage on the immo wire that connects the immo ecu with the engin ecu this is the coded line. on this wire must be a signal and the Max. amplitude is 5v. if you measure more than 5 volts then check wire or any interference on it . if you dont know where to find the wire then look for pin 59 at engine ecu .

just had the same problem with mine, here's what the problem was, the hydrolic fluid had gone bellow the min level indicator because of a slight leak to the ram, the reservoir is located in the back N/S boot. refill the the reservoir (Halfords do the hydrolic fluid for them) then you need to re-set the roof mecanism, after opening and closeing the back part of the car where the roof goes manually, and trying the switch a few times to reset the locking device with the micro switches, I managed to do it without spending too much cash. hope this helps anyone with roof trouble. -
