SOURCE: Loss of power
coil pack, spark plugs, plug wires. in that order. inspect coils, look discoloration on the back side. look for fouling on plugs.and when you get the car running spray salt water on wires to see if arcing. and use oem or performance parts. cheap aftermarket will only cause more problems.

SOURCE: Power loss
this is a self preservation device fitted to all newish vehicles. this is usually caused by the cam sensor being faulty or damaged, making the vehicle restrict itself so as not to damage anything while under them conditions. the sensor is not usually easy to get to as it is contained inside the cam housing on the top of the engine.

SOURCE: Loss of power when it rains.
the insulation cracks open on the ignition coils mounted above each individual spark plug, when they get wet the spark is taken away from the plug causing missfires/loss of power, a VERY common problem on all porsche boxer engines
