SOURCE: 1998 ford explorer airbag fault codes

This is a common fault on a FORD.

Usually due to a poor connection on the YELLOW PLASTIC CONNECTOR underneath the passenger seat.

Just push it together properly and the AirBag fault should clear

Stop at auto Zone or Advance Auto and ask them to read the stored codes and see what fault code you get. They will tell you what the code is and what it means and if you want it sell you the part.

Airbag lite flahes twice then three times & stays on.

Sorry about your car. On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in thesystem, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with theairbag light system. When the light ison (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in anaccident. The flashing light on your caris telling there is a problem. On somevehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Your vehicle does NOT require a scan toolfor the proper diagnosis. Airbagsolutions.com has the fault code charts to tell youwhat is wrong! Although it's a pay site ($14.95/day), it's a lot cheaper thangoing to the dealer. A subscriptionthrough the website will give you the procedure for diagnosing and resettingairbag light. This site that will explain everything you need to knowabout airbag lights and resetting the system. Once you know the code, you can may be able to repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that mostpeople are capable of repairing. http://www.airbagsolutions.com/ http://www.airbagsolutions.com/scanlist.aspx

2004 Avalanche "Service Air Bag

First, please review this article: Where's The Fuse?

I seriously doubt that your problem is being caused by a fuse. Your Passive Restraint System has a problem. This could be caused by a driver's airbag, a passenger airbag, a seat belt pre-tensioner, a contact assembly in the steering column, or any of the crash sensors. To find out what the problem is, you must scan your Passive Restraint (or Airbag) module to retrieve fault codes. The only thing I can tell you for sure without properly diagnosing your vehicle is that your airbag system will not function in the event of a crash. The system is designed to disable itself any time the warning light is illuminated. This is to prevent accidental deployment of the airbags due to a malfunction in the system.

Where is "check engine" sensor?

lol
thats a new one
there is no check engine sensor.
theres lots of different sensors take tell a computer to set a code and turn on that light.
ask autozone to check the codes for you for free.
its a free service they offer.
the codes will tell you whats wrong
probably an o2 sensor.
ask them if they have it in stock.

keep me posted
thank you

My air bag light on my 2004 hyndai elantra keeps going on

Ok... have you scanned for trouble codes? You see, the airbag light comes on because the system has found a fault/problem and has set a code and turns on the AirBag light. So, take it in to a Hyundai Service Center/dealership and have them tell you what the trouble code is... they will tell you what needs to be done to fix it (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc). This way you'll find out EXACTLY what the problem is and what's required to fix it.

The air bag module monitors all of the electrical circuits of the air bag system. If it detects a fault in any of these circuits, it will cause the air bag light to come on. If it's flashing, count the number of flashes between pauses, this should be the diagnostic code the module is telling you what is wrong with the airbag system (or you can use a scan tool) The only way to keep the light off (besides removing it from dash) is to repair the fault, you can clear the code with the scantool, but it will come right back on if it still sees the fault.
