Could be many things, but once a transmission
slips,even a few times, one day & you continue
to drive it, you ruin it & the clutches burn
Only a complete rebuild along with the electrical,
solenoids or whatever the current issues are, will
be the solution or fix
Wasting your time at auto zone or any parts store
checking for codes. Codes don't tell you what is wrong
or what to do.
You can't work on the car,has to be diagnosed by experience
techs, that have the skills needed & proper test equipment
Do you change trans & power steering fluids on all your vehicles
every 3 years. NO-- Then keep your check book handy

SOURCE: Misfire error on cylinder 1.

How many miles is on the odometer?

======

Does this happen when the engine is cold (during start up)?

A intake manifold leak will progressively get worst when the engine get to operating temperature (195-210F).

=======

Carbon built up (on the underside) and inside the EGR passage tube can reduce performance at low rpm (1200 to 1800 rpm).

Cleaning up EGR + passage tube carbon built up is a dirty and time consuming task.

=======

Please post the odometer reading on reply.

sounds like the trani is in limp mode take it to autozone and have the codes checked in the trani. I am sure it will tell you that there is a lack of comunication to the shift soliniods, if so pull the large wire harnes that is connected to the trani and clean the connection reconnect and try again. that should clear it up, if not look at buying a set of shift soliniods.

This sounds like all checks have been done, the oil is fine and the linkage is good, soory to say your trany is in need of a rebuild, sounds like in internal leak or weak pump, i would have a trany shop check it but i can tell you there going to say it news rebuilding. good luck.

My is shifting from 2 to drive back to 2 why is it doning that

Check your tranny fluid levels- if they are low your transmition will slip between gears, however if you notice any kind of free reving while its shifting (like being reved up when in park or neutral) then the hydrostatic clutches are slipping and the transmition needs repair.

Another thing you should investigate is your transmition kick down bar (it shifts the trany into a lower gear when accelerating hard to help pick up speed.

Code p0733, p0717

P0733 Trany Ratio in gear 3. This is a trany fault code and the first thing you should check is your tps sensor using your DVOM meter. Measuring the voltages between idle and WOT (wide open throttle), there should be no interruption in the reading (or glitches). Otherwise, it can play havoc to your shifting cycles which can cause this code P0733. If there are glitches, replace the tps sensor right away and reset the code. If trany is suspected, most common fix for this points to a defective valve body. To verify, it can be done by using a scanner which has the capacity to command the trany solenoids so it can be tested at various trany operating pressures. P0717 is a improper signal from your pules generator A. Which is a the turbine speed sensor on the transmission, You have two of them, the A reads the speed of the input shaft of the transmission and the B sensor reads the output shaft of the transmission. I know with the P0717 it will put the transmission in the limp mode and will not shift past 3rd gear and if your running the transmission hard on third you may have triggered the P0733 which is the 3rd gear slipping. Check the transmission fluid and make sure you have not burnt the fluid, if the transmission fluid is burnt you may want to have a transmission repair shop replace the turbine speed sensor (Pules Generator A) and the fluid and filter. Cross the fingers and hope the transmission was not ran to hard in third causing damage to the third gear clutch packs. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

Have the vehicle scanned for diagnostic trouble codes,and repair any codes.More than likely the trans needs a rebuild.If the fluid smelled burnt,then obviously clutches or bands are burnt inside the trans.Changing the fluid just got rid of the smell,whatever is burnt is still hurnt.It is best to stop driving the vehicle,as continuing to drive it will just cause more damage to whatever is damaged.Those transmissions are prone to pump problems too.
