SOURCE: My power windows and interior

Here you have a free owner manual for Ford Explorer m.y. 2001
http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WO1EXP/~MUS~LEN/41/01expog1e.pdf

The fuse panel is located on the left hand side of the instrument panel facing the driver's side door. Pull the panel cover outward to access the fuses. To remove a fuse use the fuse puller tool provided on the fuse panel cover.

Fuse no.# 26 = F26 (10A) = Interior lamp relay fuse

SOURCE: what is the fuse number for the power windows on a 2001 Ford Explorer?

The power windows are not directly fused, the power for the windows comes from a central control module called the "GEM", when you touch the window button the signal is sent to the GEM and it rolls the window down for you, it is a computer and it controls all the body electrical functions. This module can be tested and will return fault codes for what it finds lacking in the systems it tests, so what must be done now is to have the GEM tested for faults.

SOURCE: no power to windows on 2001 ford explorer sport trac

Power loss to the master switch somewhere. I just fixed mine (97 Ford) by bypassing power source from the ignition switch and replacing it with the one running the mirrors. Works fine.

If the window goes down , you have power, you need to check the switch first then test the window motor for proper operation
