There is a relay called PGM main relay.they go bad.check to see if you get power going to it and coming out of it.

97 honda civic wont start,got fuel,spark,compresion,new timing belt,its in time,new spark plugs,new distributor cap,new crankshaft position scensor

I would suggest to get a propane torch and turn on with out lighting it (flame less) Place in intake port to manifold crank and see if starts. this will let you know if injectors are cycling or not. This engine has Three sensors that keep the engine running crank,TDC,cam. The TDC and CAM are in the distributor and crank is behind timing belt cover.

92-95 honda civic ex 1.6L vtec won't start! New battery, new main relay. Still no start. As you notice the engine would crank but won't start up. Also the dash lights aren't lighting up either....

Did you get the key switch checked out ? The dash indicator lights have to be on for the engine to start. So you are not getting power to the dash lights, and probably not to the computer or ignition coil either.

I have a 1994 honda civic and it wont start the dash lights light up but then nothing there is no sound of the engine trying to turn over..what is it likely to be? just the starter or more?

1st check battery terminals to be making connections, next, make sure battery fully charged, then move to fuse box under the hood for burnt battery fuse, then check battery charge,if good, then suspect bad connection to starter (wires) then suspect bad starter. if not that, then try to turn engine over manually by crankshaft bolt to see if cranks locked. thank you for choosing fixya.com

My 92 honda civic doesnt start the engine turns but wont start

there are a few different things it could be first thing to check would be if the timing belt is broken this is done by removing the oil fill cap and having someone else crank the engine and at the same time some one else is looking in the oil fill hole to see if the valve train is moving. if its not the belt is broken. another common problem is the fuel system main relay. or an ignitor or coil

1991 Civic starting problem

Sizzling is not good!! Coming from under the dash is definitely not good. The relay that controls the starter is called a solenoid and is physically located on the starter. If the car started OK before the battery went dead I think it's safe to say the solenoid is not the problem.

If you yourself can operate a voltmeter, Or find someone that can do this, the only thing I can suggest is to try to find what cooked under the dash. (No easy task).

You can jumper the starter by getting a device at an auto parts store called a remote starter switch.
Follow the instructions that come with it.

Hope this helps Good luck Loringh.
