NO STEERING WHEEL LIGHTS OR GEAR SELECTOR LIGHTS ON A 2010 F-150 LARIAT

The steering wheel lights are off a 2 amp fuse in the fuse box. Look in your manual to get the location. The gear selector lights are from the safety neutral switch/ range selector switch on the transmission.

there is a gear shift selector by pass it is white in color i assume the selector is on the floor with a center console around it. remove the cover by prying up in the corners press the white by pass button and selector will move. thats just to move the vehicle temporarily. the real problem lies in the wiring harness that goes into the transmission it has a short in it that is grounding out that blows the fuse. to find the bad fuse take a test light hook the ground up to ground and probe the fuses one by one the one that dont light up replace. this is while fuses are in vehicle car on.

there is a switch that the brake pedal hits when you push it, it releases the selector so you can pull it out of gear, that switch is bad, just look under the dash, push on the brake with your hand and you will see the button im talking about, replace it and its 100% fixed.

Car will not come out of park.

Your gear shifter release solenoid must not be engaging, to release the gear selector from park. Either the fuse for that solenoid is bad or the solenoid itself has gone bad. Check the fuses in the fusebox first, to see if any one that's relevant to that shifter selector is burned out.

2004 MUSTANG REVERSE LIGHTS KEEPS BLOWING FUSE WHEN SHIFTED TO REVERSE , SWITCH IS UNPLUGED

Check for water in the transmission selector pack.

After rain or a good car wash, water can get into this transmission gear selector/sensor box.

attach to transmission, and move/select by the linkage RND21 movement.

I have to replace my selector box because the bad contact tell the trans computer it's on a different gear!
