Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

While driving my 97 dodge avenger last week the ignition fuse blew. I've replaced the fuse and now the fuel pump is not working. I've talked to autozone and oriely and they say to check the ECM/EFI fuses but cannot locate them. I've also checked all fuses and all relays and the relays check out fine. So do the fuses. Should I jus replace the fuel pump?

More than likely the fuel pump has failed and the motor windings are shorted.

That's what I was thinking too. Do u think the fuel filter cud b clogged causing the fuel pump not to b working? Wud it be better to buy a fuel pump for a 95-99 mitsubishi rather than an avenger?

Fusible links will be under hood off of selonide, you will need test light to check because they will not always be obvious.

Have a 1999 Dodge Avenger V6. Keeps blowing Engine Fuse under hood

Fusible link 3 feeds the PCM. the ASD relay, and fuel pump relay. Assuming it has A/T, that fusible link also feeds the starter relay, the EATX-ECM, and the EATX relay. A short in any of those elements could be causing the trouble.

Dodge Avenger 96 2.0L Won't Start

my wife had a 96 chrysler cirrus with the 2.6 v6 engine. the distributer was under the intake manifold and had the cam position senser in it. this is the hottest area in the engine, very bad engineering, replaced the distributer four times, each one averaging four months, spent $2500, finally sold car and would never buy another chrysler product.

Ignition feed fuse 16 blows when i turn on the key

Hi,
You have a 'short circuit' in the system or a bad ground somewhere. Go online and search on the Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler forums for this issue. I've read about myself but don't recall the common cause.

I have a 97 Dodge Avenger ES 2.5 liter which does not seem to be getting fuel. The fuel pump primes when it is turned on but it will not start. Any ideas?

the regulator is bad or clogged fuel screen or just leaking/loosing fuel prime. try to key it up a few times to build prime before starting. no matter u need to replace the pump if its not holding 55psi at the fuel rail.
