SOURCE: Key stuck, won't turn, won't shift...replace ignition switch?

Try to shift your key in either direction while try to turn your steering in left and right direction. May be its steering lock which is attached to your ignition key preventing shifting of key. If not, then its obviously your ignition that has gone.
If you decide to change ignition then as a last try Dip your key in lubricating oil and then insert in ignition to turn it on. May be it can help.

Make sure you are all the way in "Park". Wiggle the steering wheel while trying to turn the switch. If all else fails, take proof of ownership, and your VIN # to a dealer or locksmith and get a key made.

SOURCE: Would flat battery cause key to get stuck in ignition

No, the battery condition should not affect the key sliding in and out of the ignition.
However, depending on the year of the car and the wear in the steering column, having the front wheels turned when you try to remove the key can cause the key not to come out.
You would need to move the steering wheel left or right as the older cars have a "wheel lock" that can bind up the key.

Car has no power absolutely opened the door with the key tried starting the car no sound no light now key is stuck in

Your key is stuck because your battery is dead, try hooking up a battery charger to it, remember to pay attention to the proper battery terminals so you do not damage your battery or your electrical system.
The key is likely stuck due to a solenoid that is designed to keep you from removing the key if the vehicle is not in park, when the battery is dead the car does not know it is in park and therefore locks the ignition tumbler from returning all the way off.

How to get key out that is stuck in ignition

Remove steering column shroud(cover)and tap ignition barrel with small hammer while twisting key backwards and forwards, also turn steering wheel backwards and forwards sometimes this is enough to release key as the locking pins in barrel and the steering lock pin do sometimes jam.You will have to remove steering column shroud to replace ignition barrel if tapping/hitting it doesnt work anyway so its not a wasted effort.Good luck, let me know how it works out
