SOURCE: Leaking transfer case..

First of all yes it will damage the transfer case with no oil in it or even low oil. if it is just a seal then it is easy to replace, but if it means splitting the transfer case this is not a job for the diy, unless you have experience with transmissions or transfer cases. It should not be too expensive to have the work done by a profesional. Which also give you a warranty.

sounds like the seals are gone on the 4wd shaft, it takes oil pressure to keep the 4wd off, but if the seals are worn the all passes through and the 4wd will not dissingage, you will need a experianced michanic

SOURCE: Rear drive shaft seal leaking

Yes, but you will need to mark the yoke position and exact number of turns to remove the nut or you will change ring and pinion gear lash setting when re-installing it. You can use a large pipe wrench to hold the yoke still while tightening, or get a special tool made for that.

Alternator warning light stays on after the start.

Swap the wiring of the ignition switch for terminal 50 and 50b around. Now terminal 50b is switched on first to activate the alternator and the alternator warning lamp goes off during the start.

a lot of the air vents are controlled by vacumn, some auto stores sell cheap stethescopes to help isolate the leak, before you pull the whole dash apart. change the air vent settings , may help isolate it as well

I replaced the driver's side window motor because

I don't know everything there is to know about window motors, but I have seen this before, both mine went out at the same time, not together but a couple weeks apart, like they were dated. Anyway, I replaced both motors, then both operators. Now they both work fine. I would hang on to the old motor, you never know, it might be good, You might have a bad switch on the door, I had to take my switches apart on my other truck and clean the contacts, got both motors working again, Hope this helps.

If the leak was repaired then no, remember car was sitting so in order for it to leak it would have had to br running, also check all fluids and add fresh gas, may have to drain old gas,i would try to start it first before taking carb apart you may get lucky never know, worst case then take it apart if it doesnt run or start good, well good luck.

Developed oil leak below oil filter where block mounts to upper sump section!!

This is a real big problem with these cars! I have had the engine apart TWICE and it still leaks!

My guess is that the Aluminum parts are Warped and no matter how much sealant you use... it's going to leak. I used oil dye too and though I can see when it's coming from..the leak just won't seal!

I own a garage in CA

So, unless you have mad skills take it in..it's not going to be cheap to fix and it might not stay fixed for long. we have gotten it to leak less but never to stop %100.
