Question about Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
I have a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Diesel. When the truck is parked on a hill with the front end higher than the back, I have to prime the fuel to get it to start. If I park the truck backwards up a hill, it starts without priming. The fuel filter housing was replaced last year, so I know there is no crack. Injectors were also replaced last year. This started happening about 3 months ago.

red wire is only for the fuel heater.will not cause a no start.try pumping
the primer pump on top of the fuel flter hsg. but first open the bleed
screw, which is black plastic also located on the top.this will eliminate any
trapped air that might have entered the fuel intake system.if the pump does
not get firmer and harder to push, then you have a leak in the fuel supply
lines or the ck valves in the fuel filter hsg or stuck open. Still no start
have it scanned to ck fuel pressure while cranking.it should be close to 5000

I see that you had the injectors replaced 20,000 miles ago. I would still check the oil to make sure it is not overfull. The new injectors could be bad. If the oil level is not overfull then get a paper towel and touch the dip stick tip on the paper towel while oil is on the dip stick. If it's only oil it will not spread. If it has diesel in the oil the oil with spread. If this test doesn't show the injectors to be bad then you have three other possibilities. The FICM (fuel injection control module), the fuel pressure regulator, or the injection pump. It's hard to pinpoint what the problem is without running more tests and the only way to run those tests is with the computer the dealership has. Just so you know your injectors are still under warranty until 100,000 miles. Most likely you will have to take it to the dealership to get you truck fixed. I hope this helps you some.

duramax diesel trucks do not have a lift pump. start with the simple things make sure your fuel filter is tight and check the shreader vlave on the fuel rail if that don't help check the filter housing for a leaks arround the heater element or a crack in the housing itself
