I need help putting my 1990 honda elite carburetor back together

Buy a rebuild kit for it- has all the gaskets, rubber or composite-made parts, and a few most-wear-prone pieces. But always included with the kit is a sheet of paper showing a blown-up or "exploded" view of the carburetor, and every part is numbered. Starting at 1 and going to often about 100. Or 80 maybe for a small carburetor. But the key is to dismantle it in order from 1 to the end. And to put it back together in just the reverse order.
That's what you have to do. The only way to get it all back together, and the right jets in their proper place, and not spend time putting something on and then having to take it back off because something else went in or on first, you want it to work right after all the frustration and time you spent on it. You won't know until it is bolted back on and the engine started and you have test driven won't know if you did it right until that moment. So get that sheet of paper. Most all carburetors show the last part is the throttle valve body assembly-the base of the carburetor. The obvious place to start. Follow the order back, by the numbers, at one you are done. A rebuilt carburetor!

Sounds like carburetor problems. Does the choke plate open enough to keep engine running? Or the fuel level in the carburetor may be too low-adjust floats for that. Check idle speed settings -idle speed screw. Idle mixture setting-the idle mixture needle.
If still no help, buy a carburetor rebuild kit for it-not expensive, will have all new gaskets and the parts that normally wear in the carb. Instruction sheet and a numbered dismantling sequence will be included in the kit. If you have never taken a carb. apart, let someone who has do the rebuild, an awful lot of tiny parts to keep track of, and you cannot let mix-ups occur. One wrong jet in the wrong place, and you will have to do it over. One check ball that wasn't placed, and you have to do it over. Mechanics are glad that carburetor days are over-fuel injection is more reliable, with about a hundred fewer parts to check on.

Probably same. Datsuns are famous for keeping the same carburetors (and other parts, as well) with only minor year to year modifications. My '79 Datsun pickup 620, right now has a carb from a '73 Datsun 620 parts truck, runs okay-for a hitachi.
Check ebay for new, remanufactured, or used- pretty sure they would have a lot of carbs for your car. The best place to buy new or remanned carburetors, especially for our older datsuns, is Very nicely planned (and huge!)catalog, too, with easy access.
Don't know about your 280Z, but with the 620's 2.0Liter engine(L20B), weber carburetors are all the rage now for them. They are excellent carburetors and very reliable, even claim to increase mileage over stock, but for $250, I guess I'll have to motor on with the old hitachi a bit longer.

Lost a part to my carburetor have no idea what it looks like, It is called a weight and fits down into a well in the lower body of the carburetor. the rebuild kit does not have a diagram of the parts and...

Go to a junkyard and buy the carburetor off another truck. Parts are not generally available for 29 year old carburetors. Then make one good one out of the two old ones and your kit. If it is a you can probably buy a new carburetor from Holley to fit the truck. They are expensive. Good Luck.

When i accelerate there is hesitation and jerking? Once at a certain speed there is no jerking but if you slow down and then accelerate again it jerks/hesitates again.

It means there is a problem in the carburetor of your car . But if then so you still have to check the accelerator springs and pedal. For there are worn out or destroyed parts then replace them for good .About the carburetor.Prepare the equipment or tools to be used in servicing the carburetor .So that when carburetor will be repaired or serviced no parts will be damage or lost. Locate the carburetor. Disconnect the fuel lines , the accelerator cable and the magnetic jet from the carburetor.Dis -assemble the carburetor.Clean carburetor with carburetor cleaner.Don't forget to observe safety rules. If there are worn out parts or destroyed parts then replace them .But you the owner don't have time to do the job then go to a car shop mechanic and let them do the job.

Check out this site, I have purchased from them, OEM parts, and they're cheaper than local dealers, great exploded views of the carb and parts.

From your Description, I Suggest you; 1- Check for Current/Voltage (10.5 VDC Minimum) to the Carburetor Shut Off Solenoid. If the Carburetor Shut Off Solenoid has Current, then Remove the Carburetor Solenoid and Go to the Hardware Store. Purchase a Bolt of the Same Diameter and Threads. It Needs to be 1/2" to 3/4" Long. Put this Bolt in Place of the Solenoid. If this Corrects the Engine Problem, then Replace the Solenoid. ***NOTE: THIS IS FOR CHECKING THE SOLENOID ONLY I NEVER SUGGEST YOU OPERATE THE ENGINE WITH THE SOLENOID OUT OF THE CARBURETOR EXCEPT FOR TESTING PURPOSES*** Sometimes the Plunger is Moving, Just Not Far Enough to Allow the Gas to Enter the Jets. 2- Even though the Carburetor Looks Clean, the Internal Passages May be Restricted with Varnish that Gas Causes to Build Up over Time. I Suggest you Make Sure the Gas is Free Flowing to the Carburetor Inlet Port. If the Gas is Free Flowing to the Inlet Port, then **Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I Use Gunk). I have Found that Most People can Use a Breakdown/IPL and Disassemble the Carburetor Enough for Proper Cleaning. You Only have to Remove the Bowl (if Applicable), Float Pin (if Applicable), Float (if Applicable) and Needle Valve and Any Adjustment Screws that Go Into the Carburetor Body. The Welch Plugs Do Not have to be Removed. Then Soak the Carburetor Body and Parts in a 1 Gallon Can of Gunk Carburetor Cleaner Overnight. The Can has a Parts Tray Inside it for the Small Parts. Once the Carburetor and Parts are in the Cleaner, you can Replace the Lid for Safety and to Prevent Accidental Spillage. Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install New Parts if Required.** Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
