Open the MENU and go to the setup for AUDIO, balance, treble, etcc and proceed according. However will be a great idea that you read the owner manual for better solution.

go to MENU the guide to setup the AUDIO, and adjust with the indication Screen.However you must read the owner manual for better intructions.

The stereo in my 2008 Silverado has very low

If it has a premium sound system some of them have a small amplifier for the over all system and the rear out put may have lost signal out put power.If it does not have an amplifier then I would replace the head unit(deck)with a brand that you like so you have total control,and no that does not sound right.Hope this helps

Stooping at an auto parts store or especially one that sells stereo's and picking up a harness adapter for your vehicle, is a pretty low cost way to do it, without the nightmares of splicing etc. It plugs into your existing harness to make it easy. If no luck , try this site:
