SOURCE: 2000 Caravan-Engine cooling fans not running, replaced temperature sensor and fan relay, still not working-HELP

Did you replace the sensor by the thermostat in the engine block or the one under the drivers headlight, There are two, the one next to the thermostat controls the temp gauge in the vehicle. the one under the headlight assembly controls the actual fans and is a electronic module. You have to remove the head light assembly to get to it.

SOURCE: 2000 Audi A6 2.8l Coolant Temp. gauge not working.

changing the engine sensor is easy when engine is cold and make sure you refill with antifreeze ,Buy sensor first so you know what to look for its not expensive from a motor factor .i honestly cant remember ever changing one on this model but it must be around the head area somewhere

SOURCE: 2003 Audi TT Quatro Coupe.

The main reason for the over heating of the audi tt is to do with the water pump. The propeller within the first type of water pumps is made of plastic. This was to prevent corrosion, however was never designed to last longer than 5 years. What you need to do is purchase the new style water pump. These new style water pumps have been designed with a metallic propellor which should resolve the overheating. Let us know how you get on.

wow, no year stated. 1972?
first year with codes, 1988/99! (most cars)

the fan?
its all here.

i could offer real accurate help but no year stated. sigh.

to me , sounds like you lost ground to the sensors
and some years have an ECU 5v output that runs sensors
that can DIE. (with brand new sensors)
sensors need power to work, so we use a voltmeter to test live circuits, this shows me exactly why its failing.

Radiator fans are not working

With the switch on cross the 2 wires going to the coolant temperature sensor and if the fan comes on then replace the coolant tenp sensor. You check the fan relay by switching it with another with the same part on it in the fuse panel.

What could be making the radiator fans in my 2000 Alero stop working? We just replaced the old one yesterday and the fans worked great and then they stopped working again tonight. We checked the fuses...

the temperature sensor is next to thermostat housing disconnect the sensor and start the car if the fan works right away you have a faulty sensor also make sure there is good ground to the body and engine

Cool en fan dose work

hot wire coolant fan, if coolant fan works, you have faulty engine coolant temperature sensor, or you have faulty coolant fan relay.you can use your climate control panel to access any bcm fault codes that will cause your coolant fan not to work.

03 Town & country cooling fans don't work even afler replacing relay. They'll work when relay plug is jumpered. Phil L

if they work when jumping the relay then all wiring from the relay to fans is good.have you checked all the fuses on the car(both under dash drivers side and under hood).if they work then its possible that the coolant sensor may not be sensing the coolant temp as hot as it is(showing the computer that it is at a lower temp)then it actually is.which would suggest a defective coolant temperature sensor and no this sensor does not always set a code.

Cooling fans dont engage! 1998 oldsmobile silhouette!

Your Problem Can VERY WELL BE with the Temp Sensor, As It Is the First in This Electrucal Circut . it Waits for 210-230 Degree Engine temp and Gives that Sygnal to the ECM then ECM Grounds out the Cooling FAN RELAY To Turn ON the FANS and the Temp Sensor is Usualy THE #1 Culpret Closley in front of the RELAY.
There are 2 Sensors On this Vehicle The One You Replaced and One Located At Trans Side of
Engine Closer to Front of Vehicle At the Head ,Thereis a 2 wire Plug On it and This Sensor Goes to the ECT witch CONTROLS COOLING FAN RELAY. Hope this Helps and if you Need A Diagram For this It Must be Emailed as FixYa Does NOT Support Large Picture Files. My Email Add. Is MY
