SOURCE: HOW DO I BLEED A COOLING SYSTEM 98 HONDA CIVIC

I believe the previous solution is confusing your AC system with your cooling system. Trapped air in the coolant is unlikely to occur anyway.
Check rubber hoses around the intake. Look for loose clamps or collapsed hoses that can leak air into the intake bypassing the throttle; a vacuum leak.
If OK, locate the engine temperature sensor for the engine control system. (Look in a parts catalog or service manual for the car). It may be defective. I'm assuming from your OP that the Engine light is not staying on. If it does stay on, there may be a trouble code saved in the engine control computer.

SOURCE: can't bleed coolant system on Audi A3!

In my experience with Audis, after any job requiring changing/draining the coolant the car ideally needs to be driven. With the coolant topped up to max drive the car, keep the revs up and shake the car with steering and over bumps where possible. Whatever you do make sure you take at least 2 litres of water/coolant with you, as as soon as the air lock goes, the level drops a lot and quickly. Also keep an eye on the temp gauge and avoid letting it go much over 90 degrees (over 90 on the gauge usually means its well into the hundreds) When you get consistant hot air through the heater, at idle, the level should of settled. If this doesnt work you may have thermostat issues or a blockage. Good luck, let me know how you get on.

SOURCE: Bleed cooling system

Assuming you have already filled your cooling system with the proper G12 coolant to the cross-hatch level, open the coolant overflow/fill bottle cap. Leave it off. Start the car and let it idle. Turn your heater on full hot and full fan speed. Let it come up to temp so the thermostat opens up and allows coolant to flow through your system. When the system burps, you'll see air bubbles show up in the overflow tank. Let it cycle a another time and then top off the coolant if needed. Then close up the cap and call it a day.

SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Stratus Coolant Outlet Flange

The water outlet housing if installed properly, shouldn't leak. The only way to build up too much pressure would be for the thermostat to be stuck closed. I would find out where the leak is coming from before I went any further. Use the bleeder screw in the housing to bleed the air out of the system.

How to replace a radiator on a 2003 mitsubitshi lancer es

make sure the engine is cold , drain the coolant from the rad ,there will be a drain tap/bolt on the bottom of the rad ,be sure to us a container to collect the fluid as should'nt be left to run down a drain etc as is very toxic, disconnect the top and bottom hoses, there are usually two bolts either side of rad loosen these, rad may lift out if not remove the bolts and lift the rad away and out of vehicle , if the cooling fan is attached to the rad remove , will be obvious what bolts need undoing, replace this fan unit on new rad ,then refit new rad , reverse of removal , dont for get to check the drain plug is closed on the new rad , refill cooling system by adding coolant to the expansion tank, run the engine and bleed the air from system ,there will be bleed screws at various points around cooling hoses etc , allow engine to cool 1 hour min ,check coolant level top up and repeat bleeding process as neseccary good luck very straight forward job , keep me posted

Where do you find the thermostat for the radiator on a 1991 lexus es 250?

Hi, Most of the time you can follow the UPPER radiator hose to the engine and there will be the thermostat housing. On Reverse Flow cooling systems you follow the LOWER radiator hose. All the thermostat does is trap coolant in the engine until it reaches a certain temperature, then opens to the radiator to be cooled. Don't forget to bleed the air from the highest place in the cooling system. Sometimes that's the reservoir, but look for a small plug high on engine. Good luck

have the thermostat checked for correct operation. Ensure the coolant system is full and pressure bleed to remove any air locks. Ensure that the heater control is working as if they are not used for long periods of time they tend to rust/jam up or the vacuum actuator line leaks.

Did you put thermostat in correctly? cooling system should eventually bleed itself of air, you will just need to keep filling. Make sure your not adding straight coolant/antifreeze.

2003 lincoln aviator water boiling and car overheating

Check to coolant level after it cools off and check to see if coolant-water mixture is correct. If those are ok. You could have to much air in the coolant system. Most radiator caps will automatically vent the air out of the coolant system. It could be as simple as a coolant cap that gone bad. Or you may have a air bleed valve on it and you need to bleed the air out manually. To bleed it you will have to crank engine and get it warm. Touch top radiator hose to see if its warm. If not then the thermostat has not opened yet. That could also be the problem. After it gets warm open the bleeder valve if equipped and bleed all the air out. Once the steam and hot air from the valve starts to be gone and pure coolant coming from the valve. You have successfully bleed the coolant system. Cool engine back off and check coolant level once more. Hope this helps.

Engine gets hoat some time, no heat from heater. top hose seems hot to touch lower hose is cool. Drained radiator few weeks ago and problem began

Theres a strong possibility being you just changed the coolant a few weeks ago that theres air in the cooling system not allowing the coolant to cirrculate properly, look at your top radiator hose is theres a small bleed valve at the top of the thermostat housing when the upper hose attactes to? If so loosen the bleed valve and allow the cooling system to purge the air out of the system you can tell when the air is out of the system when a steady stream of coolant starts to flow out of the bleed valve, if theres no bleed valve take the top radiator hose off of the engine side and allow the cooling system to purge the air out through the top of the engine that way, but it definatly sounds like theres air in the system not allowing for the cooling system to cool properly...

BLEED AIR OUT COOLANT SYSTEM.WAIT UNTIL ENGINE COOL DOWN.REMOVE COOLANT OVER FLOW PRESSURE CAP.IF YOU HAVE 3.1 OR 3.4 ENGINE OPEN AIR BLEED SCREW ON WATER PUMP BYPASS HOSE.OPEN BLEED SCREW.WATCH COOLANT IN OVER FLOW AS YOU OPEN BLEED SCREW COOLANT WILL DROP IN OVER FLOW JUG. AS IT DROPS CLOSE BLEED SCREW ADD MORE COOLANT IN OVER FLOW JUG DO THIS UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL STAY AT COLD FULL MARK.WHEN DONE TIGHTEN BLEED SCREW DONT OVER TIGHTEN IT OR IT WILL STRIP OUT BREAK.CRANK CAR UP UNTIL THERMOSTAT OPEN THAT WHEN TOP RADIATOR HOSE GET HOT.WATCH COOLANT GAUGE,IF ENGINE TEMPERATURE RISES TURN OFF ENGINE WAIT UNTIL COOL.REMOVE RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP USING A RAG TO KEEP FROM GETTING HANDS SCALED.ADD MORE COOLANT IF NEEDED WHEN ENGINE COOLANT STOP DROPPING IN OVER FLOW JUG AND ENGINE DONT OVER HEAT AIR IS OUT OF COOLANT SYSTEM.

Need to bleed air our of cooling system on 1992 Lexus SC400

The generic method of bleeding air from the cooling system is to use a floor jack and raise the front of the car as high as poss, then fill the coolant recovery tank full and run the engine until it just starts to overheat, high end of normal zone on gauge, then shut the engine down and run cold water over the radiator core, this will self bleed the system and the coolant will be pulled from the recovery tank, repeat as necessary, never let the recovery tank run dry or more air will be pulled into the cooling systeml
