Question about Dodge Grand Caravan

Electronic throttle control light

I have a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan w/about 82000 miles on it. Last week, I heard a tone when I was braking quickly but saw no light. Then today I heard it again while braking to turn and saw a red light in the left corner of dash, it just flased up and disappeared. When I got to my location, i turned the ignition key off and then back on to see which lights were located there on the dash. Turns out it was the electronic throttle light. What would make this light/tone warning come on in this circumstance?

Your car could be experiencing the effects of a failing throttle controller. In today's cars, the linkage between the accelerator and the throttle is electronic rather than mechanical (the way it used to be), so something like sensor damage, worn-out wires, and stuff like that. Or it could be that the throttle body itself is damaged.
If one of these really is the problem, it could cause your car to stop responding to the accelerator and to stop working, so this is a problem you may want to get checked out quickly so you don't get stuck somewhere with a car that doesn't work. This is a problem that should be diagnosed and fixed by a certified technician.

The throttle is a fly by wire type, no more throttle cables, when you press the gas the computer reads that via a throttle pedal sensor and then commands a motor on the engine throttle valve to open the throttle to the desired power setting which it reads through yet another position sensor at the throttle valve on the engine. You have a problem somewhere in the system. What you need now is the dealer to troubleshoot the complex system and find out what is happening that is triggering the warning light for the throttle control..

Only way to tell is have a scan tool hooked up an check the DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Most auto part stores will check these for free . Could be a simple wiring problem ,or a sensor of some kind or a brake control module . Don't know with out knowing what codes are stored .

Have a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan that will not start, just a click, yet every other electronic works.

Try a jump start. A weak battery will allow the electronics to work, but may not be able to start the vehicle.

I have a 2005 grand caravan that makes a clunk noise when I put it in park. Should I be concerned? It has 62000 miles on it.

check the front engine mount. it is probably worn.
have someone shift from reverse to drive to reverse to drive while holding their foot on the brake. if the mount is bad the engine will rock back and forth as the gears are shifted. i have a 1988 caravan and it is just a few bolts to replace it. the mount i bought last week cost $17
