make sure that the vent on the tank is still clear!! Did it work for a lil while after he let you get the car or was it still messed up when you went to pick the car up after the repairs

I had a similar problem with My 94 S10. Are you geting black smoke and does the smoke smell really rich like gas?
If this is the case you may need to open up your plennum again where your spider injectors are and take a look at the fuel lines themselves. They are pre-formed by the factory and come into the plennum near the back left right side of your motor. Leave the battery connected and have someone go into your truck and turnthye key to the "ON" position, you know where the fuel pump primes the lines, and check to see if those lines are spraying into your motor. Mine had hairline cracks in them but because they are under like 75psi they shot gas like crazy into the motor making the truck run SUPER rich and it was hard to keep it started.
This could be why your mechanic says that you have good fuel line pressure, cracks in your lines may be too small to make a huge difference in the pressure reading, but all that extra fuel being dumped in your motor will really give your ECU a hard time.
The bad thing is since these are a factory part, you may have to shell out some $$$. I think I paid like $85??? for mine, but that was back in 2003.
I hope this helps! Good Luck!

In a quiet environment sit in the car and turn the key on you should hear a quiet motor noise coming from the gas tank, if you have doubts have an assistant turn the key on while you bend down and listen near the gas tank you should hear the fuel pump turn on then stop shortly after the key is turned, don't try starting vehicle, if you do not hear this sound the pump in the tank has failed or the fuse blew, locate and check the fuse if it blew chances are the pump is in fact seized. It is not an easy job the fuel tank must be remove to access and replace the pump. There is a chance that the fuel pump relay is bad locate and check fuse and relay first before dropping the tank.

install clear plastin line in the return from the injector pump, any air in the fuel means trouble, somewhere in the fuel system its drawing air , usually neat the tanks, but not leaking enough for fuel to leak
